I just finished watching another cleaning video of yours and saw this one lol! PS my boy LOVES his new cage and new PIG ROOM BUNK and MATS. I was gone for 8 weeks and thought he’d be shy for at least a few days, but NOPE! The mats are so cozy, he just took a nap in the middle of his cage, and took to the bunk bed like it was hay dipped in pea flakes🤣!

I don’t have any guinea pigs, but I love watching your channel. You do a great job in your care and in your rescue. Too bad more people don’t search KZbin first before deciding on purchasing guinea pigs. If they did, I think we would see less rescues needed. When I was a child, back in the 60s and 70s there was no KZbin or Internet and so all we had were books to gain our information from and back then it didn’t say anything about using wire cages for guinea pigs or how much room they needed or how much they peed. I was probably eight or nine years old when we rescued a guinea pig from someone my mother knew. The Guinea pig had been living in a birdcage. It was only 9 inches round. When we got him, his name was Harvey, he was a deep brown and stunk really bad. We wanted to give him a bath but the book didn’t say we could or couldn’t. Only that they were very susceptible to upper respiratory colds and to give lots of food with vitamin C. After a few days, may be a week, we started to see a color change, and he turned out to be half white and orange. At the time, we also had a bunny and the bunny fell in love with Harvey. She even chewed a whole in her box and his box so they could be together. Bonnie had been trained to poop on a newspaper under our TV and Harvey started doing the same. So we let Harvey live with Bonnie in her cage that my dad built after the breakout- which always had a bunch of straw on the bottom of the wire mesh that the rabbit cage was constructed of. When we let Bonnie out to run in the house we let Harvey out too. Harvey would follow bunny all around the house. He loved to be picked up and held and cuddled more than the rabbit did, and every time my father came in the house from work, Harvey would squealed with delight and wouldn’t stop until my father went over and tickled him behind his ears and picked him up for a cuddle. Harvey never squealed like that for any of us and yet we were the ones that fed the two of them and cleaned the cage. Do you ever cuddle your guinea pigs? I never see you in a video where you’re playing with your guinea pigs. After about three years or four Harvey died and Bonnie was very very sad. She was unconsolable and died of a broken heart despite everything we tried. That was the one and only time I ever had a rabbit and a guinea pig. The funny thing too, is that when we brought the rabbit and guinea pig in the house to be with us, which was all the time, we never saw any pee on the floors from them running around, just on the newspaper where they also pooped. We had hardwood floors, so it would have been easy to see if it happened. Also, another nice memory was that Bonnie could jump onto the hassock and then onto the couch when she wanted to be near us. Harvey didn’t like it when she did that so he would start to squeal until we picked him up too. Then he would start his little like chirping (?) sound he made like he was talking. LOLs What does wicking your liners mean? What are your liners made of?

Love watching your videos! I have a question. I see that sometimes you use a liner with the uhaul pad sewn in the middle and sometimes you put your pig mat or uhaul on the bottom and lay the fleece on top. Which do you like better and why?

I prefer the sewn fleece liners as they are fit to the size of the cages and I spend no time having to fold anything to get it to fit!

It means that you are washing the fleece or liner so it’s wicked and wicking is washing it a certain way or a few times so that the pee ubsorbs in the fleece instead of just sitting on top he has a few videos you can look up about it!❤

Seeing you just throw away toys without a second thought is so weird to me. Obviously you have your own business and can easily replenish homemade products, but for me throwing away things is always bittersweet. It’s sad because I spent hard earned money just to have my pet destroy the toy but it also means that they liked it a lot.
@ThePigRoom Жыл бұрын
There reaches a point where my piggies will no longer play/chew them so no sense in having them in the cages any longer. Better to always replenish with fresh toys so they stay intrigued ☺️ It is bittersweet, but it’s good to know they enjoyed them!
