Could be worse though. As much as I wish there were a snap feature, they do come with ladders, so you can use the old ladder trick with them, and get more accuracy. Still though... if only.

@@theyammi437 with no clip on, if you get them to close to each other both stop working, for example i build on one of the platforms and wanted to start on the other and it said "to far away from platform" even tho it wasnt connected to the other platform what so ever and it was the first ceiling so it shouldve been fine, my guess is that the game thought that it was part of the other platform or something

Great video and build. I was thinking the other day with the fact that we have these water platforms now I would love to see someone do a video build even if its a multi part video of the stargate atlantis city in the water and using metal or tek building pieces.

Ive found that its easier to line the ocean platforms if you place one down then go to the edge in the center, look down until you can barely see the water and use the edge to make sure you are straight, then line up the center squares of each platform

love this build. found my next project. only thing I'm gonna try different is the stairs for turtle to go up. I'm gonna try and continue the stairs an additional 2 stories high than build the platform for the turtle to rest on. this will hopefully allow me to still have water tames below him as well and have some kind of quarters below.

Yeah I think a Magmasaur build would be a good project, I am just finishing a couple more Bog Biome builds and I am heading to the Lava Biome next :)

Trying to build something similar to this but the game’s doing everything in its power to prevent me from doing that. Man, these ocean platforms are so buggy! You can’t build on the edges without sometimes getting the “too far away from platform” error, despite the fact that you’re trying to build literally on top of the platform. Wildcard, fix this pls. Amazing build though! I loved the industrial look to it. You nailed the design!

Thanks Yammi, and I have noticed that my self and some other things it's like it registers the land below underwater? And another thing it would not let me place foundations on the platform only ceilings, but I have seen others building foundations on them lol

Incase you didn't know, you can snap the stair/ramp to the inside and place a ceiling tile to the bottom. Metal is 4 blocks deep, and wood is only 2.

So you can make a ocean pen 4 “walls” deep if you use metal?? If so that saved my planned build!

You can use a ladder, some walls, and a ceiling or two with K mode and you can get it a tad more even! The walls/ceiling have to be high enough though to place the platform correctly.

I managed to get the two ocean platforms close enough, with no collision on, to get it where I only needed two ceilings for the middle instead of the third. If you want to, I can show you my rendition of the build once I finish it after work today! I turned it into more of a water based pen for my dinos, and I'm currently fleshing out the innards and upper walls.

@@colts9611 It went well! The main issue is that it was too many entities in one area, so it caused little lag spikes when going into/out of the area. Otherwise it was an awesome build for the sake of building it.

Foundations snap to the platform. Place one with a ladder and align yourself with the pillar where the rope ladder is attached

I’ve been building (and getting eaten by raptors, not sure which I am better at) since the game came out in preview for Xbox a few years ago and your builds definitely stand out from some of the other people who do the build vids, top job matey. btw as a hint: for those that want to build this/something similiar and have noclip structures active: if you build the platforms to close to each other you will run into issues, i had two platforms next to each other and after 20 minutes of building i couldnt build on the second one anymore because "structure is to far away from the platform" eventho it was just a wall directly ontop of the 3x3 ring of the platform

Mr. Pilgrims, The design of the walls reminds me of the Stronghold in that movie with the creatures called…. ‘White Spikes’? (Don’t remember movie name) They also look absolutely amazing! And the ‘DryDock’ Look reminds me of the hangars for the Jaegers in Pacific Rim (2 of my favourite movies!) Only thing I have to say is: WOW

I dont trust in dino leash. had my dinos bug out of range twice. So what I do is have one dino one passive with others on neutral following it. Always worked since when Legacy were Official (PVE wise).

Hey Spuddy I never counted up the structures for this build but if you could count 1 side of the walls on 1 platform and times it by 4 that should give you a good ball park figure

I've been trying to somewhat replicate this but I'm getting a "this structure is too far away from the platform" when im placing the ceilings on the platform itself. Any idea on how to fix this issue?

You can not build over the side of the platform only on it and into the middle over the water. I was watching Jade Plays Games build his the other day and he got that warning inside his platform but could not figure out why?
