These last few tutorials by Travis have been by far the best pinball tutorials I have personally seen on KZbin or any other platform for that matter. The way he’s recording the pinball play then editing over it with commentary and visuals makes it crystal clear what’s going on. Zero confusion. I really hope you’re getting good feedback for these and continue to make more for new and old games alike.

Appreciate it Cody. That's the goal, make these games as accessible and understandable as possible, while trying not to overwhelm with too much information. The long term plan is to be consistent with Stern games and sprinkle in some Bally / Williams games.

You, my friend, Travis, are not only gifted at pinball, but also have the innate skills required of an effective teacher. I've read the GZ rules but can barely remember them during play. I've watched 2 lengthy fast paced tutorials that attempted to share way too much info & gained little from them. I spent 45 min watching, pausing, replaying this tutorial with rule sheet in hand until I understood each element you covered. I'm really looking forward to your clear concise tutorials with highlight & textual aides, so I can both understand & progress on this really fun game. Thanks so much.

I _just_ took delivery of my 70th & was a 🤏 nervous about the B&W (ngl). Soon as I fired it up & balls started dancin, I could see which shots were lit _so much easier_ & w the inserts all lit up, I’m GLAD I went w the 70th! 👌 I must say, when the _movement & paths_ of a steel BALL make you laugh aloud during your first few games, you know you’ve got something ULTRA-special under the glass. This thing is a MASTERPIECE of design! Holy SMOKES! 💥 😮💨😮💨

I also generally do Gilligan (Gigan) first but I do both right and left ramps also to start jet fighter at the same time so I will have two allies. And then I generally do the same, get GZMB ready, change cities, do two ramps THEN hit the scoop so I start Titanosaurus and get allies (Rodan and Mothra) at the same time as this optimizes Rodan time, start GZMB and defeat Titanosaurus. Doing this method I have obtained a Titanosaurus score of 450ish million. Also depending on the power up it might be worth getting the Tier 1 5x time multiplier if you are trying for high scores. TItanosourus would be a good one for that as in a GZMB he can be defeated quickly.

Hey Travis. I don't know how it took me so long to find this channel, but I'm glad I eventually did. While there are plenty of "how to" pinball videos, I've found them hard to follow for various reasons. #1 reason is usually because people play the game live and try to explain it as they play. But I appreciate your commentary over a recorded session, so you can better structure and communicate the topic. I look forward to watching more and thanks for spending your time and energy towards creating great content!

Thanks for the feedback. That's the idea, try to stay as concise as possible without getting in the weeds too much with explanations. With so much going on in these games nowadays, some nuances will get missed from time to time, but that's ok. My overall goal is for everyone who watches to understand the core and general strategies of each game presented.

Nudge the machine upwards right as the ball is coming to the joint (between the flipper and the plastic/metal guide). Sometimes you don't have to do anything at all though if the ball has enough speed already.

Around 1:30 when you’re passing the ball from right dipper to left flipper, I can’t get my Godzilla to do this. It falls short at the tip of my left flipper. My pitch is 6.5. Is your pitch greater? Thanks. Great videos
@ThePinballCompany4 ай бұрын
The pitch was about 7 degrees on this game I believe. On some copies it takes a firm upward shove as soon as the ball gets past the plastic part and meets the flipper.
@alb13069 ай бұрын
I just got a pro. I’m at the correct pitch for the machine, but after hitting the right ramp, once it returns to the my right flipper it does not come back with enough velocity to be able to hold the right flipper and then hold left and have the ball hop over to stage it on the the left flipper. It just barely makes it to the tip of the left flipper and I’ve got to flip it away or else it’ll drain. I notice he says “if the copy allows,” does that mean my machine just doesn’t allow this exact mechanic?
@ThePinballCompany8 ай бұрын
It's possible. Since the games are all their own individual build, there's always quirks and nuances that occur. If your game is at the correct pitch, most of the time a ski jump should work, but sometimes you have to time a forward nudge on the lockdown bar at just the right time. Typically this is when the pinball is just now passing the joint of the flipper (where the flipper and plastic meet). Keep your flipper up and then give it a hard forward nudge to help the ball ski jump over to the other flipper.

I just bought my Godzilla Pro and trying to figure this game out. I'm practicing on your strategy. However when the ball comes back down from the right ramp, whenever I try to bump it back to the left flipper it doesn't reaches it and get a middle drain. So frustrating. When am I doing wrong? FYI: My playfield level is at +-7° with the air bubble in the middle of the upper stripe. Thx for your help 🙂
@Rich_Ice Жыл бұрын
How could anyone possibly remember a portion of this. I know how to start the basic modes and have only completed a couple of them with having Godzilla a year now. Basically after starting a mode all I'm doing is trying to keep from draining balls and hope I build points.
@ThePinballCompany Жыл бұрын
Don't think of anything else but the mode / Kaiju battle itself. Once you want to learn the other parts of the game, don't know of anything else but that particular part of the game itself. Once you understand how something starts and the nuance of it, then you can combine existing knowledge together. I do have a video coming out within a couple of months that explains how to learn and remember rulesets quickly.

Probably a simple question, but I always wondered if you fail to defeat the tier 1 monster (which is usually the case for me) and earn a re-match, should you pick the re-match and try to finish it or move on cities? In a flip frenzy H2H type scenario. Great videos, thanks!
@ThePinballCompany11 ай бұрын
Entirely depends on the game state and how many points you need. In a H2H situation, it might be worth re-matching if you haven't crossed the halfway point of the battle to qualify an ally. Especially if you're close to GZ MB. If you've crossed the halfway point and have an ally lit, there's an argument to be made to go ahead and switch cities along with qualifying Mothra for the left outlane ball save safety.

Does tournament settings/mode effect the battle modes?
@ThePinballCompany Жыл бұрын
Good question. The only thing I'm aware of that competition settings alters is the Powerup Levels as they're deterministic. In standard mode, the Powerup becomes randomized.
@DavidKlausa11 ай бұрын
0:52 "You can hit the same ramp twice." Really? I don't think that's true on the machine I usually play on, and the rulesheet says "To qualify a Kaiju Battle you must shoot a left and right ramp..."
@ThePinballCompany11 ай бұрын
V1.01 update changed the ramp behavior to have “Medium” difficulty be the default. This difficulty keeps both ramps lit until kaiju battle is lit. Once you change cities, the difficulty increases, which becomes needing to hit both the left and right ramp.
