Great series Robert. It would be great to see videos like this series of you shooting an engagement session and wedding. Have you thought of doing a show about the business side of a photography business? Thanks for your hard work.

Could you please share your thoughts on the pros of choosing either the Sony 85/1.8 GM or the Sony 135/1.8. Do they have a fairly tight, defined purpose, and, if so, which one has a wider spectrum of purpose? Many Thanks!

Hello Outdoor Adventures, Both of these lenses can be used for anything you wish to shoot, of course, but I would say they are very popular with portrait photographers and are usually considered portrait lenses. The Sony 135mm 1.8 G Master is one of Sony's sharpest lenses and my favorite portrait lens. I shot Sony A-mount cameras (A77 & A99) before E-mount cameras, which launched October 2013 and the A-mount 135mm, 1.8 was my favorite lens then too. I was very excited when Sony announced the 135 1.8 G Master for E-mount cameras. Both these lenses reminded me of my 150mm f/4 Zeiss lens I used to shoot on my Hasselblad when I first started in photography. ( I still have all my Hasselblad gear ) #nostalgic The 85mm 1.8 and the 85mm 1.4 G Master are both great portrait lenses themselves. However, if you don't have a GM budget, the 85mm 1.8 at $550 is a stunning portrait lens for the price. Especially when you will have to shell out $1250 more dollars to get the G Master 85mm 1.4. Yes, you go get an extra stop, but as an owner of both lenses, the 85mm 1.8 is fierce competition to its bigger sister. We will be doing upcoming shows on this exact comparison, plus the Zeiss 35mm 1.4 compared to the Sony 35mm 1.8 and the Sony Zeiss 50mm1.4 to the Sony 50mm 1.8

not bad but a lot of the images feel they have a bit too much "white space" i.e. a lot of empty space around insead of a closer up focus.
