Imagine that, an artist showing up at your studio asking for spice. My first response would be: "you smoke synthetic cannabinoids? Gross."

Dave Chappelle's Tyrone Biggums enters the studio... "Y'all got anymore of that... deep spicy heat?" 🔥🔥🔥 This is awesome! Good looking out & great video! Thanks for hooking us up with this rack, will be very useful. I'm only just breaking the surface of what we can do in Ableton Live 11 Suite. Refreshing to see what's achievable in our DAW without having to spend thousands on plugins that we "already have at home"

It’s genuinely the most powerful DAW I’ve ever owned, there’s so much to be achieved with just stock plugins, effects and free downloads! Thanks so much for stopping by!

This is why I love Ableton Live! There has never been a reason to buy any of those cash grab heavily marketed plugins. Most of the time they sound very generic & unmusical. Heck, there are even numerous free plugins that can achieve much of the same thing. Thanks for the free Rack, Hush!

New subscriber here. This was good. I think there's alot of us that just want different sounds, but don't have anything particular in mind. I'm mainly a guitarist and don't know much of synths, but enjoy synths or instruments that have functional "random" or "glitch" buttons that randomize setting within a range to generate different sounds. It's often quicker than searching through presets and it gets to a sound I'd never find myself. I can often tweak it if it gets close to something interesting in that case, but sometimes I still can't figure out what's happening to fine-tune it. I guess I'm still learning what everything on these type instruments do - but it still lets it be interesting since I may not have a particular sound in mind. I don't have ableton, but I've bookmarked this and going to work with some of the effects chains like you've shown so I can learn from what you've shown. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for your sub and your comment! I hear you, sometimes just flicking through pre-sets and tweaking it a little will trigger inspiration or happen to be the sound you were after! I’d suggest checking out my “subtractive synthesis” episode, it’ll teach you more about fine-tuning sounds and growing closer to making the sounds you want from scratch

I love that it's all stock Ableton. What are your thoughts on Ableton's EQ Eight vs Fabfilter? Someone else on their channel (can't remember who) said that if you turn on Oversampling, it's basically the same.

I downloaded this but it doesn't want to work with my version of Ableton Suite 11.0.1. Which version does this work with? Cheers.
@WillHatton3 жыл бұрын
I'm using Ableton 11 also (11.0.2 but wouldn't assume that would make the difference!) Dragging the adg. file onto the track you want to use it with should just work fine! It won't work if you've opted out or deleted any of the stock effects it needs (Hybrid Reverb, Auto-Filter, Chorus, Saturator etc.) Afterthought: It may not work if you're still using the early access / Beta test version of Live 11 not the purchased version of Live 11.

@@WillHatton i started getting craploads of drip adverts everywhere and esp on youtube. i was gonna buy it just for kicks cos it was $28 but then started going well huh i'm not so sure (trying to save money and not soooo convinced anyway). i can layer fx until it sounds lush, by hand, but while i was talking to a friend of mine goin "i might buy this" - he asked - well, what is it? so i tried to find a video that shows what it does, and found your rack instead. well, thanks for making it!

I’m not a fan total fan of drip myself but this rack only serves purpose to ableton users so you can’t really discredit the drip plug-in when yours is only made for a DAW
@WillHatton2 жыл бұрын
The essence of the video was “you can make this yourself” if you follow the tutorial, my download only applies to Ableton users because I only have Ableton but the theory applies to all DAWs. It’s a combination of filters, noise, EQ, chorus and reverb all of which we have at our disposal!

One reason for all these producers creating their own plugins may be for new producers working in different daws to still be able to follow the creating process in a video, but charging top dollar for it made me stop following the dude
