There are still going to be some folks that think having multiple camera angles is a way I've hidden it being one live take (it's not!) so I've actually uploaded a version of the video with a single static camera, without cuts, to my instagram!

Jfc using the midi drum foot triggers is genius
@Jazman3422 ай бұрын
I bought mine about a month ago with the intention of getting into all this stuff. Unfortunately the keybed is so good that I have been concentrating on Practicing my piano sight-reading on it instead. The semi weighted keys are way better feeling than your basic synth flipper type keys, while not as demanding as a fully weighted keyboard (which I also have). This thing is SOOOOO much keyboard for the money. I have done little but play around with some of the midi functions but having gotten into complex triad pair chord voicing as a result of actual piano practice, it's nice to know I can save them to single sequenceable launch buttons for live jam use in situations like this. Add to that the keyboard split for single pass chords and Bass/Lead, and it cuts that boring 5 minutes setting up a loop when playing live. This sort of Live use (pun intended) would seem to demand a well thought out template in Ableton, but given that, anything is possible. Using the 5 pin midi could be interesting with an FCB1010 as well for foot based switching as well as expression pedal use. A handy thing if you are primarily a guitarist/vocalist solo performer.

nice, didnt know about keyboard splitting. Although I don't understand half of the terms you're usin ol. So you can save complex chord voicings into single keys, then play those keys playing those chords right? What's single pass chords? What do u mean by foot based switching, switching of what?
@Jazman34229 күн бұрын
@@Frodo1000000 Keyboard splitting is a great feature. Single pass chords meaning playing chord progression for song/tune/jam in one play though. Which of course can be done from the chord pads, either included chord sets or ones you make yourself which you play in one note at a time while holding down a pad. This is also a great feature if you use a soft synth with after touch. Bass and lead can be played at the same time if you are good enough using keyboard split. Foot based switching meaning using a midi foot controller like the FCB1010 or similar for functions like solo/mute/record enable on tracks etc plus programable expression pedals for effects etc. This thing is a huge leap forward for solo music production. Especially live. PS: if you have basic chord knowledge Google 'Triad pairs".

Mine just arrived today and "so much keyboard for the money" hits soooo hard - I bought this knowing about probably 10% of the amazing features, so much to play around with 🥰

Haha, great video! I bet you spend at least one hour to setup that Ableton session and then another hour to practice to get the whole thing recorded and filmed in 2 minutes, but yeah, you make it look very easy!

I'm looking to invest in a new MIDI keyboard with 61 keys and have narrowed it down to three options: the Novation Launchkey MK4, the Nektar LX61+, and the Arturia KeyLab Essential. Could you share your experiences with these models? Which one do you think would be the best choice? Additionally, do you have any other keyboard recommendations I should consider? Thanks!

I'm an arturia guy, and still would reccomend it the least between the given options :(
