I can almost see just by looking at the board itself that the keybed feels incredible. All this is telling me that I need to hurry up and get ableton for myself lol. Love the video and the vibes you make! Just unboxed mine a few days ago. I have an Arturia Keylab 88 MK2 and it was hard for me to really figure out all of the functionality. Took me out of the creative flow A LOT and the keys on that board a on the heavy side. The LK 49 MK4 is much simpler and allowed me to create and stay in flow much more effectively. I love that the pads are automatically aligned to the drum map in Ableton, although I wish the mapping was more linear versus how they have it laid out. Only thing it’s missing for me so far is a tap temple button.

At 7:18 did you just switch tracks on your DAW software using a button on the controller? Is this just as easy to do if you're not using Ableton or one of the other DAWs not referenced in the documentation? Nice video.👍

Dude, you were actually 100% honest and I really appreciate that, that is why I am subscribing, and that is what will keep us watching, and the great content as well. I have NI Kontral and Maschine, my wife being a beginner, is overwhelmed by it, and so am I sometimes. I already have Launchpad Pro, she already is familiar with, so for the intuitive workflow, I think this is it. But I dont think we need the features in the MK4, a used one on Reverb should get the job done. Thank you!

But will the transport play button trigger external hardware devices to start, like a Polyend, a Roland device, any external hardware device with a sequencer. If you’re playing live this is essential.

@moguld4419Ай бұрын
Not Bad,but far from high quality feel.I'm also about to buy one, and I'm thinking about this, as well as the M audio oxygen pro. What I really liked was the Arturia keylab mk3. It's a more serious midikeybord than this one, but it's expensive
@gabemcmillanАй бұрын
@ I have 3 other midi keyboards, this one is way better than all of them, including the maudio.
@moguld4419Ай бұрын
@@gabemcmillan Yesterday a bought the Launchkey MK4,because of the keybed,and pads quality.The problem I was afraid of is that it doesn't work as a DAW controller, because I have older Logic and Pro Tools. It's true that I planned to upgrade my system, but not yet.Until then, unfortunately it works as a plain midi keyboard. M audio would have worked, but Launchkey really has better quality. Laugh and cry at the same time.

I just got a new Keylab, but the chords being mapped to the pads on the Launchkey is very nice. The Keylab has AT and Arturia software integration, but I found that I had to remap the controls anyway because the defaults were not intuitive. I also hardly use AT. The only other big difference may be the keybed, but that is preference. I tend to like the lighter keys anyway. The Keylab is also double the price. I think I might returning it.

I'm looking to invest in a new MIDI keyboard with 61 keys and have narrowed it down to three options: the Novation Launchkey MK4, the Nektar LX61+, and the Arturia KeyLab Essential. Could you share your experiences with these models? Which one do you think would be the best choice? Additionally, do you have any other keyboard recommendations I should consider? Thanks!

@BenIsJammin634 right. I didn't see how he got to the split mode in the DAW using the LaunchKey. I can do split mode in FL Studio, but this seems like one two and done. I love split mode on analog gear and I'm curious about it using the controller.

Yes, I was able to split a bass patch and a keyboard patch in Ableton. The MK4 will allow you to set the keyboard split range and use 2 different ports for MIDI

Thanks for the review! How do keys feel compared to Minilab that you had before? I am looking for a keyboard that is easy to press keys but still having a good velocity range. I am thinking of getting LK 37 or 49 MK4 or even minilab or Keystep 37. I currently have NI M32 and you need to press hard to get a sound there and keys feel nor very responsive.
