Edgar Markov Commander Deck Profile!

I absolutely decimated at a CEDH regional tournament with a list very close to this. It frustrates the hell out of opponents when the life drain starts in earnest. Not only that, in the final I had the Tomb of Yawgmoth, a mountain, a plain, and a demonic tutor and a cordial vampire, Elenda, and Blood Artist in my hand. I drew my Vampiric tutor on turn 3, and had the board wiped by turn 9. I had 93 life on my counter when the last guy conceded at the end of his turn, he had 4 life and nothing to block me. He was playing Ur-Dragon, and the 3rd place opponent was playing a really cool Giada, Font of Hope deck, but he had a miserable game and couldn’t draw a land to save his life. Was just bad luck of the draw for him. One of my opponents, the 4th place guy, completely flipped out when I knocked him out, screaming how my list should be illegal. Literally screaming. I completely shut down his Stella Lee (heavily modified) combo deck. A judge had to throw him out and ban him from future events. I can’t even play the deck at our weekly casual commander night, because it’s just feels bad for everyone else. I do sometimes play a very toned down version of it though.

If I want to build this deck but have none of the cards would I be better off buying blood rites and building from there or just order everything I need individually? new to magic and I really want to build this deck but I'm starting from no cards at all.

I feel the Blood Rites deck would be the most ideal. It, and the Vampire precon from the more recent Innistrad set will give you a running start.

I love this list! I have a question though, if I remember correctly Markov is banned as a commander, am I right?

How does this deck work with one swamp, one plains and one mountain? Serious question.

Because he has a ton of lands tapping for dual colors or any color.

This is actually a preference of mine. I like to build decks to use as few basics as possible, to maximize the flexibility of my mana producing lands. Some decks (one and two color decks) might run more basics, but once I hit three or more colors, those numbers drop substantially.

I got too much flak playing this guy. I love him because before commander I played kitchen table MTG, and vampire nighthawk was the bomb. Now I'm discouraged from playing him because "oh he's a braindead commander, no skill, too strong" and it got to me. But with innistrad remastered, I'm making a comeback with my Judge Promo Edgar Markov deck
