I used to live in cape Vincent, NY. I used to love visiting Kingston. The used to be a cool store there called Cooks general store. My favorite part was the ferry boat ride to get there! Kingston mills is STUNNING as is a trip up the canal to Ottawa!

Kingston is a town with a lot of energy. It's a substantial portion of everything really. You have, of course, your military culture, university culture, arts and music culture, sports culture and a bustling business culture. There's always something going on there it seems. In 2009-2010, I worked at ATV Electric( a used tube-television repair shop) and spent my spare time busking downtown on the corner of Princess and Clergy for a few hours and then haunted the 3 or 4 bars I liked to hang out at on Princess Street. The Grizzly Bear north on Princess usually meant a blurry cab ride home... Good times! Kingston's also really cool if you like old world architecture. Sometimes while waiting for the main drag to wake up, I'd stop in at ST. Mary's Cathedral and chapel. Feels like a 17th century atmosphere. Art and music? Kingston's known for it. One of those Twilight Zone hot pockets of Liverpudlian creativity in eastern Ontario. The Tragically Hip. Headstones. I Hate Sally. Lots of liberal arts going on there. Buskers Festival. Film Festival. Worth checking out! I miss Kingston.

Kingston is actually turning 350 in 2023. It celebrated its 300 in 1973
@ThePlanetD2 жыл бұрын
Sure, I can give you that. It was a trading post in 1673. It wasn't until the 1800s that it was even established as a town and then eventually as a city. But the truth is, it has thousands of years of history since it is located on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee Confederacy, and Huron-Wendat People.

there are plenty of places to swim, we just didn't go swimming. Kingston is located on three different waterways and there are urban beaches and public pools. You can swim at Breakwater Park, Arrowhead Beach Park, and Lake Ontario Park to name a few.
