Question… did any of the Newshub staff offer to take a pay cut to keep the station going?

Good comment. I bet not. That's for everyone else to do.

Who cares in a world where everything you don’t like is woke. We tend to only care about ones self and self interests. New Zealanders in a nutshell

Technical recession is the term used by those payed enough to ignore it, usually by the taxpayers infinite generosity.

A possible summary 1. Technical recession = The economy is going backwards even with record immigration volumes . Things must be really bad. 2. Recession - What most individual NZer have probably been experiencing for the last 10 years once all the smoke and mirrors have been removed.

I'll bet the official cash rate has been close to 5.5% far more often than it has been 0.5% which is extremely low.

More 'feel good' smoke and mirrors waffle from Business NZ to cover the fact that this country is economically stuffed after 38 years of 'for profit at least cost' neoliberal economic policies and governance, where the country is spending more on imports of every day items than the country earns in exports. Despite the corporate jargon waffle, this government has no plans on how to cope with a major global geopolitical crisis, like Iran using one or more of their proxy/proxies to attach Israel causing major disruption to global trade, supply chains and finance.
