Excellent video AJ, thank. you! I am an A.S.E. Certified Master Technician from the U.S.A. I recently retired after 50+ years in the automotive field, hence I know cars. Last year I sold my old Lexus RX 300 (200,00 trouble free miles) and bought a Certified Pre-Owned Lexus RX 450h from a local Lexus dealer. This is probably the best all around vehicle I have ever owned. It does everything right from comfort, performance, to economy. I have a heavy foot and still get 25+ mpg and have even gotten as much as 34 mpg when I drive it less aggressively. Lexus and its parent company Toyota are known for their high quality builds, and I am sure that this vehicle will be no exception. Nothing ever breaks, and the maintenance is very, very reasonable especially when compared to other SUVs of the same category. I absolutely love this car!

The RX is so good, even the old ones. We have a 2004 RX330 with 350,000 miles (560,000 km). Still running great and everything still works. Starting to burn some oil though. Air conditioning compressor had to be replaced and Catalytic converter replaced. That's it!!

The seats feel like real leather ... because they are. Only the base model RX has man made leather. The premium pack adds smooth leather and the takumi pack (which is what you have in this review) adds semi-aniline leather. That is why the seats are so super soft and comfy! The problem with this is that contrary to what you say these seats will mark and develop character as they age due to being a lovely soft natural product.

@@AJThePlayerKZbinChannel yes the base model premium has fake leather or leatherette seats but you can option for real leather but on F sport and Takumi trims have real leather as standard (your car is a takumi)

Agree. I was thinking to test drive and probably buy Lexus. Not anymore :-) I am looking for a car with a lot of front seat space. I am taller and heavier than the presenter. This will not be my next car. Also how on earth you can see the front seat is nice and comfortable given the fact you barely fit there mate? I am starting seriously to hate the new model cars with massive center console. So far I have done test drive on Merc GLE, GLB (you feel like can of mackerel inside), Landrover Discovery (weird floor bumps pushing your legs under the seat), Kia Sorento, Hyundai Santa Fe, VW Tuareg, BMW X5 (all with massive center console issues) and they all suck! My 1980 Golf 1 had more space on the front seat. What is wrong with manufacturers? I may need to buy used Merc ML. I can't stress how frustrated I am the last 2 weeks.

Love the video. I have searched high and low for this type of review in the uk. I love the USA, don’t get wrong, but it is all about the spec in America. We pick up a 22 plate 450h L on Monday and this week is dragging. What a price too. We are part exchanging our 12th mini, a 10 month old Countryman Cooper S and Mini offered us a pittance. A better deal from Lexus, albeit through a Mini dealer nearby.

AJ - I have just bought a F-Sport 460h (2016) the first of this shape, had it a week, what a great car, watching this review was part of my decision making research. It is a heavy car with lots of power when needed but also giving very good economical number in ev mode and on regen mode without the engine kicking in, trying not to let the engine kick in is a nice new game I play.. everything in one car. Early days but high hopes for the future. Thank you,

Me and my parent's recently picked up my new 2021 $85,000 US dollar fully-loaded Lexus RX 450 HL V-6 Hybrid as a first car, also the L designation does stand for long-wheelbase mine is in black on the outside and s black on the inside. $68,625 US for the car the remainder of the costs was in Maryland taxes and the rest was in other costs like in accessory's and pre-paid maintenance plan's as well as insurance and license plate's. Also just FYI I'm 20 year's old. NOTE, I was looking for additional information about how the tire jack work's and thought that this video would explain that a little bit more because I'm not very technical, and no I haven't broken down so don't worry.

For the US at least, those actually are real leather seats, they are semi-aniline leather. Which are included with the luxury package, also giving you the rear sunshades and the extra stitching on the seats. Might be different in other parts of the world though. As an edit, those might be NuLuxe as I see the steering wheel has matte wood trim. But in the US, you would get a high gloss wood trim with aluminum engraved.

Number 1, it's a Lexus hybrid. Number 2 they are appreciating at the moment due to the popularity of hybrid vehicles, V6 engine notwithstanding. Number 3, these are the most reliable vehicles on the planet. Be well informed my friend before you bring your cynicism to the table.
