Alexander...very good review! When Warfighter Pacific came out, I threw in for Pacific and Europe... all expansions. That was no small bit of cash, but in my library of war games, I've never found one game that is this complete! Saint Dan has constructed a game that caters to the player, and renders an almost infinite amount of options. Now I can play as the Germans, the Poles, the Brits, or any other entity that finds me curious. The key to this system is that you can easily mix and match Modern with WWII... fantasy with future. As a person who enjoys a lot of "What IF"... I can transport (hypothetically) a dragon into WWII... Modern squad soldiers into a midevial (sp) dungeon. I have any number of amazing games I genuinely enjoy and thirst to play... but Warfighter will always trump any and all of them.*** IF you and Grant want some real fun, see if you can dig up a copy of "Operation Tannhauser" from FF. Yes, it's out of print, but the mechanics and system are great fun. IF you're interested I have copies of the base game and Novgarad expansion, plus the individual characters still in shrink and box. Am intrigued by this system but also a bit dubious that it can cover such wildly different genres as WW2 and fantasy etc. all in the same rulebook. Am thinking that it may be a generic attack v's hit point sponge system which loses out on theme. Will have a look for reviews to see if it has enough chrome to make it genuinely feel like WW2. The game was originally designed as a special forces game: where a small team of elite soldiers attack jihadis or cartel thugs. I.E. asymmetric warfare. And that's how the WW2 version feels; you'll have about 4-8 guys going against multiple enemy squads and machine gun teams. If I were to rate this on a scale with realistic simulation on one end and Call of Duty on the other, this game would be closer to Call of Duty. A good example of what it feels like would be the scene in Predator where they attack the enemy camp.

I was wondering when you would get to Warfighter. Very good solo game, you can control the amount of micromanagement you need to do for your squad by picking, NPC that are pretty automated. Excellent game. When you said it was 2nd edition I panicked a little since I bought a lot of addons to the game, but when you went over it, it appears the only thing that may have changed is the rulebook layout to be more generic for upcoming versions of the game.

Yeah, nothing crazy changes-wise, just built in more flexibility to the rulebook.

This unboxing showed 4 counter sheets, and 1st Ed description specifies only two.

Can you clarify what versions of the the Warfighter series have this new rulebook (does Pacific)? The DVG site does not even include a description of this 2nd Ed of Warfighter WWII that you opened here. Their catalog descriptions seem surprisingly vague.

This WWII base game is the only one that contains this rules book. Warfighter Pacific has a rule book that is self contained but is strictly about the Pacific and some of the wave #2 expansions like zombies, tanks, airborne, shore invasions, fortifications etc.

The only reason there's a second edition is there was some problem with the art used on the first edition box cover.

@@Hedgehobbit there are new rules, corrected cards and new keyword sheet. Look at M1A1 Rocket Launcher or melee weapons.
