Gorgeous! The name is interesting; “Wellington vs. Napoleon”. Napoleon isn’t in any of these battles. I guess you have to have Napoleon on the box cover to sell Spanish battles. Just what I don’t need; another battalion level Napoleonic system. Hard to say if I’ll get it though.

I have to agree. Battalion level might work for smaller battles , but imagine Leipzig at the battalion level! Even regimental can be overwhelming. My personal sweet spot for Napoleonic games is brigade level.

Looks very interesting, I especially love the gorgeous maps, which similar to La Bataille in style, but with Rick Barber like elevation. However I expect this costs a bomb to find in the UK so likely a non-starter.

The new dress look on the markers is a design choice i very much respect. Would love to play it just to see how it looks when deployed on the board.

Good video. Thanks. Btw, the names are pronounced roo-LEE-sa (Roliça) and vee-MY-roo (Vimeiro). The battlefields (just north of Lisbon) are very accessible and worth at look at in person.

Looks fabulous and yay it's Battalion level. The only level to play Napoleonics at IMHO 😁Now just hoping that LnL have got past their variable die roll tradition where sometimes rolling high is good and yet sometimes rolling low is also good...

Unfortunately I missed the kickstarter or gamefound for this beauty.

For Decades I've mispronounced Byzantine, Scythian, Alan, Mississippi, Espresso and hundreds of other words I recognise but don't know how to say. It bothers me less than you might think.

Hi, maybe you should not show the various rule books ijn the box, it seems to me a real detterent for that game: seems so thick, complex and un-playable, so why spend money on a beautiful but useless game? There are so much like that in the wargames world: costly, fancy, un- playable multi rules and not game oriented. Too bad.

This game actually has 3 different levels, so the total number pages for any one of games is dramatically reduced. I believe that each game level is a complete set of rules rather that a typical layering on of introduction, then medium then advanced rules modules. Here you read each level as a complete set of rules.

I'm not sure what you are reacting to? The Core Rules book contains three levels of rules: "Soldier", a quick and straightforward set to get started with the system; "Battalion," which brings in more complex concepts and then, "Brigade," which allows you to select more complex formations and play to use on top of the "Battalion" rules. The Companion book has the Scenario data and a wealth of supplementary historical data to help put the game in context. I'm not seeing anything "unplayable" or "useless" -- far from it. Am I missing something?

@@jeffwesevich1239 I think Frederic was dismayed by the thickness of the rule book - a 100 or so pages without realizing that it is for 3 different levels of play (3 separate games in actuality)

@@jeffwesevich1239 Each set of rules has a color bar at the bottom of the page, which matches the charts that apply to that game. There is also a sword, cannon and musket to help identify the rules set and charts used for that game. The concept is to allow people to choose the level of complexity they are comfortable with.
