Do not let the rat poison creep in. Must keep same intensity for Texas it’ll be our toughest challenge yet. They have the two best lines we will have played all year. It’ll be a de facto home game for them as well. Only focus is Beat Texas ignore the noise
@razor72412 күн бұрын
Texas is overrated and they do NOT have great lines. Look at what ASU did against them. Texas is no where as good as Oregon this year. Also, WHO has Texas beat this year. The only really good team they played (Georgia) beat them TWICE! If we play a good game, we will take them to the woodshed!
@SatansShartКүн бұрын
@razor7241 all good points, but instead of taking them to the woodshed, we could lose if the “rat poison” creeps in. Saban is the GOAT for a reason

I love Caleb Downs but Texas has a great secondary. I hope we diversify and not overly rely on him but I trust Chip to scheme effectively and we beat Texas 35-17

Zach makes another good point in the O line being scrappy comment. The guys we have on the field now do not surrender under shoulder pad level leverage easily, and what sets them up for this attitude and performance is that our genius coaches finally figured out not to rely on the stupid Keystone Cop-like zone blocking plays, especially stretch zone where the bad habits developed here bled over to the other blocking schemes. Instead of giving up leverage early and often, they are now giving up leverage only sporadically and very grudgingly.

Juck I just donated because it showed live, but you went off. Hopefully, you'll be able to read later.

Zach, nailed what I think is the critical scheme on defense in these last two games in letting Downs roam underneath the other two safeties. I would assume the primary read for Downs is the QBs eyes? Texas will try to counter Downs with look off quick hitters I would guess.
@markgrissom2 күн бұрын
Compare earlier season video with the games against the Vols and Ducks on defense, and note our D ends hand techniques, especially Sawyer where he has used his hands to keep the O line's hands off him and get off blocks quicker and more consistently. I watch him now and wonder why we did not see this in the fall. What changed?

Too much praise for Justin Frye. I'm sure he's trying to do his job, but the O-line ONLY got better when Ryan Day gave the play-book back to Chip Kelly. Kelly had the #4 ranked rushing attack at UCLA. Frye's crew couldn't move anyone vs UM only a month ago. And yes, I know UM has a couple studs on the D-line, but so does Tennessee .. so does Oregon .. so does Texas. It's Kelly's SCHEME that has allowed the O-line to play a big part in these wins, not Frye's sudden imparted enlightenment.

We beat Penn State in Happy Valley and weren’t playing nearly as well as we are now. If we play them in The championship game, I’m confident we will beat them again. Without a complete breakdown (fumbles, penalties, etc) we should be able to beat Texas easily!

Yup…this is how a $20million roster SHOULD look. The problem is that in 6yrs of having the top 5 roster in the country, we’ve seen this a whopping TWO times now. So, now OSU fans are supposed to forget what we’ve seen out of Ryan Day the past 5yrs??? It’s a sick feeling when all you know about a coach is just how indescribably horrible he can be. Ryan Day hasn’t accomplish ANYTHING great yet, so a lot of fans (as happy as we are with these past two great wins) are just waiting to see Ryan Day’s @$$ again, at some point in this CFP. It feels like sitting in the dentist chair, with a death-grip on the armrests, just WAITING to feel the pain from the drill. I wish I had the ADD these die-hards have, to where two very good games, negates Ryan Day’s dog-sh-t legacy with this program. I hope Ryan Day wins this nattie. The program needs it as much as he, and these seniors do….and most fans want Ryan Day to succeed. *But, if he DOESN’T win the nattie, then this season is NO different than every other season under Ryan Day. And, fans have been MORE than patient with him the past 5yrs. Are OSU fans supposed to tolerate Ryan Day’s disgusting level of underperformance, for another 2-3yrs, if he DOESN’T win this nattie simply because he called a couple CFP games??? This is why that UM game is so important, it gives the players, and fans something to be proud of in the probable event OSU DOESN’T win the nattie, which is now exponentially more difficult to win. And, this CFP, as good as OSU has played the past (again) TWO games, is ANYTHING but a given.*

First of all, other than the Michigan games, Day has been an exceptional coach. Guess you have never had a bad day at your job huh? The team is playing GREAT now why not expect them to keep it up for two more games instead of all the negativity!
@phillamoore1572 күн бұрын
@ JFC…THAT’S your reply. Some helmet-wearing, denial-ridden version of “Nuh-uh”??? You should hear yourself… “Day has been an exception coach short of not being able to beat the one game he’s paid $10million per year win, and having zero national championships….(and only two Big 10 championships for that matter)”. *But, SHORT OF THAT!…*🤦♂️. This is Ohio State…not Nebraska, dude. We don’t sit around polishing our giblets over dropping 60pts on Kent St, only to lose to a broken, lost, dilapidated, UM team…AT HOME, for the 4th loss in a row. *As of right now, Ryan Day with everything kept in context, Ryan Day is a worse coach than John Cooper.* If Ryan Day starts winning natties, and beating UM on a regular basis, then the tens of millions of Ohio State alumni who are fed up with him not being able to unf-k himself after 6yrs of unconditional support (up till this last UM game) will change our view of him. Till that day comes, shove your “First of all” BS up your 2nd hole, Gretchen. If your standards at THAT low for an Ohio State HC, then find another team/sport to follow….community colleges need fans too.
