So much better to watch these guys play then all these rich amateur business men mixed in with pro's that you see now a days on TV. Pure pro poker is just top level. Watching today is like watching half pros and half amateurs play pro sports, imagine how that would look!
@efg13114 ай бұрын
Today’s streaming games are way more realistic. Pros don’t like playing in games where everyone else is also a pro, plus a lot of these older games were staking players just to be on the show (Ivey, Dawn, Antonious). It’s also worth pointing out these older “made for TV” games are a lot more fun to watch because they’re edited and only interesting hands make the show. Watching the stream games really does give you a better feel of what it’s like to actually play and grind for a whole session. I also like how the producers in todays streamed games finally realized that showing the player’s total chip amounts is really important to the game; they didn’t do that back in the old days and it kind of frustrates me to not see it now that I’m used to it. These old shows are still great but I’d rather watch the streaming games where the players are playing more realistic stakes. It’s worth pointing out that David Tuchman is still doing commentary these days; that’s kind of cool he’s been at it so long

HIgh stakes poker when it was on in the after noon for those 6 or 7 seasons was the best. I remember when the WPT TV shows were good and they actually showed hands, instead of now they show maybe 4 hands in an hour and have 20 minutes of commercials in the hour. Poker after dark was great when coming home after a late night out. A cult classic that should be run regularly. The 10k buy ins and winner take all were a bit slow and I liked the 100k or whatever cash games better. Still, at 2 am it was great to watch

The table's reaction to Feldman's flat on the river with bottom full house (around 25:00) is so clueless. Flop checks through on A 6 4 rainbow. Feldman should definitely be betting his set, but decides to mix in a slow play. Turn J and Antonius bets 80% pot out of position with his open ended draw. He could have all the value hands here except AA, with bluffs like his current hand, or some broadway gutshots, mixed in occasionally. Feldman decides to raise, and this is why he really should have been betting the flop, because now this raise makes no sense. This is a spot where Feldman is forcing Antonius to play well. He'll continue with an ace or better and 75 and 53 for open enders, and fold everything worse. When the board pairs on the river, Feldman has a boat, but it's bottom boat. Antonius decides to lead out for 1/3 pot as some kind of blocker bluff(?). If Feldman raises here, what can he get called by? Antonius could have 66, A6, J6, 64, or JJ that Feldman would lose to. Antonius should never have a plain 6 after calling the turn raise. If Antonius is making a blocker bet with a hand like AJ or AT, he's never calling a raise, and he's folding all of his bluffs. Feldman can only really own himself by raising here unless Antonius would bet/call his strong aces, which I really doubt.
@septicwomb4394 Жыл бұрын
Feldman seemed very shook at this table. No doubt he can play online but he was the fish here. Way out of his depth and giving the rest of the table too much credit.

Raise and get called by what exactly? Antonius isn't bet/calling an Ace. He isn't bet/calling a Jack. He should have folded all of his 6x on the turn. He might bet/call AJ if he thinks Feldman is spazzing with a missed gut shot, but otherwise he's calling with J6, A6, or 64, and clicking it back for a reraise with JJ or 66. Flatting looks weird but it's the correct play.
