He said a swear . . . I saw them at Madison Square Garden a little over a month later. They didn't take the stage till 10:30, forcing me to take the last train out of Grand Central back home. I caught holy hell from my dad for not calling to let my parents know I'd be home so late (around 2:30 AM). I was 14 . . .

@Grant Schinto Ouch... I did get to see Prince a few moons ago, Graham Central Station opened, but Sting is still on my "to see" list, especially since "The Police" will likely never be seen in concert again. Truly happy for you. Sad you had your rear tanned, but perhaps worth it...

The musicality and sheer technical prowess going on with this band are what make them special. They were that good and with hooks to boot. You could say that they were progressive rock because of the chops they brought to the songs, kinda like very late Genesis. Superior players using a pop song underlayment to kick some major ass.

Copeland fooled the world. A white dude, playing one drops (Reggae), and had EVERYONE thinking they were a "pop" band. I saw em in 07, and Summers had the same jacket on
