I don't know, Amazon announced that they will cancel The Expanse after only 2 Amazon produced Seasons, before the first episode that they produced was even released, before they had any metrics how well it will be doing, that is not a good sign. The Expanse Story is far from over, lots of books that have not been adapted yet. ...and of course one of the Actors managed to get himself cancelled and fired.

I hate Amazon fired the actor from the expanse with no proof the same way they did Johnny Depp. How about we let these women go to the police and you know go through the court of law and see if there is any validity before we ruin a persons life on hear say. Wait there evidence is so flimsy and suspect at Amazon that they reneged and never filled Us in on the investigation when they said they would be fair and OPEN nor did they have enough to prosecute him on anything other than women getting mad that men hit on women. The man's not even married. And women majority of the time about ninety-eight percent of the time aren't held accountable for lying in court, even when it's been found out later and the accused has had their life ruined. Hopefully we'll get to see that one or 2% time when Amber Heard gets hers finally the truth comes out. There is one additional reason for optimism -- season 6 is (supposedly) the final season of The Expanse. So, there will be an open slot for a space-based sci-fi show.

That is NOT a positive. They cancelled The Expanse before the first Amazon made episode was even released, without any real metrics on how well it did and the Series will be left unfinished, there are entire Books of source material left that have not been adapted, imagine Game of Thrones had been cancelled after Season 6 and the Books had been completed. ...why would anybody do that? I see this as a very bad Omen for Stargate. Do you want the next one to end up like SGU or Dark Matter again, cancelled in the middle of the Series?

it's a streaming site, the notion of "slots" is completely meaningless these days, as there is no "Friday evening death slot" - indeed, that's a good time for geeks to watch shows if nothing else is going on that evening.

I can't imagine that a plot set twenty years later can just be pulled back for the sake of regular season releases without massively altering the story.

@@chouseification while the notion of "slots" is completely irrelevant in the streaming age, what they do have is a set budget for shows with a given target audience. The Expanse wrapping up until irl time has passed will free up a good chunk of that budget that could potentially go to stargate. I doubt that after all this time we'll immediately see an Expanse-level budget, but a piece of that could easily go to getting a stargate show out there to test the waters in a much more meaningful was than Origins did.

Given what disasters most remakes or continuations have become lately, I really hope this gets not messed up in the typical current fashion once studios get into “content producing and addressing new audiences mode” (... Star Trek etc.). The strong involvement of the original cast and makers makes me slightly hopeful. We will see...

When GoT had to diverge it got bad, and then the show runners got bored of doing it so they drove it into the ground ASAP. At least we can be relatively sure that's not going to happen in S6 of The Expanse. That's the only silver lining though.

stargate must fit in with the previous series. not a redirection / reboot. something that complements what comes before. this also means future new viewers will have a rich history to explore. also closure of SGU, SGA plots, personally i hope we get some of the characters returning. the trend to revision shows with current mindset is really ruining these classics. they are shows to enjoy and chill out on, not to ponder why humanity kinda sucks. i can do that with interacting with people, not when watching travel to alien worlds pls.

BSG also came after too long, and it was a success. Stargate reminds me franchises like star wars, star trek, there's a full world to explore there with many lore, stories and characters to develop. Look at the series that came from star wars like the clone wars, Rebels, the mandalorian, etc... It only needs someone with a passion to make this epic and a company willing to put the money. The fans will always go for it (in case of sw, we even went to the crap lol).

Stargate appears to have turned out to be the #1 show people watch through the additional MGM subscription on Prime Video. Amazon also appears to have a very good track record of letting show runners more or less do what they want without too much interference, so the future for Stargate is looking very bright indeed!

i think it's less about SJW stuff and more about the tone and the writing. remember: in SG1 Sam also said something about how it doesn't matter whether her reproductive organs are on the inside or outside... but the tone of the show was light and fun, and the writing was fantastic (especially from S3 or 4 onward) and that allowed us to ignore/forget the more cringey parts. when people critisise Star Trek Discovery (for example) they focus on the SJW stuff, but you have to keep in mind that that show is also terribly written, looks ugly (dark and miserable, low saturation) and it's not clever or witty, and the characters don't have much of a connection to each other (unlike in SG1). i think these other elements are way more important than some cringey line here or there..

@@BartJBols Its not always that simple, Anyone could try and start a hashtag trend, but it way more effective when you get established social hubs like these gusy to kick it off and then contribute. It all comes down to exposure and the quicker you can get the trend noticed and going, the better. Don't get me wrong, I do like this comment because I too see a lot of people say "I think that x needs to happen" but then do nothing to push it. I have seen it plenty of times and I have had a lot of discussions with old friends who had habits of saying they "wished they did this" or that it would be "cool to do that" and so on and I usually retort with "Why are you talking about it and not doing it" and it usually gets followed with excuses. However... I honestly believe in this case, for the sake of the success of a movement, it would be best started by someone who already has a strong traction of likeminded fans. I have not been on their channel long but I have noticed that these guys (and a few other youtubers) already have strong community voices. Now, in Albert's case, while I think he sould indeed make the effort on his own, it would be better and more efficiant if The Popcast and other SG youtubers started the movement and did streams and shoutouts on Twitter to get it going. Together, their platform pull more views than Albber (most liekly) and for this specific situation, those views and the contacts these guys have will do WAY MORE good than one guy posting a tweet for 5 views.

Compared to star trek, the creator of stargate is still alive and has worked on the continuation of the story over the ten years. I think that his style from the old series can be found again even if it was definitely adapted to the present day with more money, more computer animation and faster stories. monster of the week will probably not follow, but finally new stories in the universe we know.

A new stargate series finally, I'm actually shedding a tear, I really hope they continue in real time, that the Tau'ri, Tok'ra, and Jaffa now have full control of the Milky Way, the Ori galaxy is in politics and trade with the Milky Way and Pegasus galaxies via Supergates where all 3 are connected, and the Tau'ri, other human races, and the Wraith have things going well in Pegasus. Now with a full fleet from multiple nations, we finally goto the Andromeda galaxy only to find new evils and secrets awaiting us, let's jump to hyperspace and find out soon

@Neil Rosenau "i just hope Amazon doesn't turn Stargate into Star Trek" from your mouth to god's ears, my friend! xD Amazon makes shows like The Expanse and The Boys, so i think it will be more like them. which is good news for some people, because these shows are liked (by some). but honestly i'm not a big fan of them. i've seen all of The Boys and it's a miserable show.. it's sometimes gleefully evil, dark and there is no sense of decency, togetherness, teamspirit or much humour (which was so important in SG) and the show looks dingy, especially in the scenes where they hide in the basements. i haven't seen The Expanse (only the trailer) but the look of the show tells me that it's also dark and miserable (i think they even mention the word "terrorism". in all the 300+ episodes of SG, i can't think of one episode where that word appears xD) maybe it's just me.. but i don't like to be miserabled at in my TV shows xD, so what Amazon does isn't really for me :( also keep in mind that the Air Force and the Canada-ness was a big part of Stargate. the Air Force really had good science and tech advisors (which is why a lot of the technology and the dialogue felt so real) and the AF also made sure that there is some restraint (in a standard Hollywood show Jack and Sam would have hooked up right away) and i think sublety and restraint go a long way.. i think you can get a glimpse of what we're in for, by looking at SGU. it was made in the US, not Canada, and it felt less fun, more dark, there was no teamspirit and everybody felt like a detached moapie selfobsessed Hollywood person xD (sry for the long comment xD)

Amazon is already investing a ton of time and effort on their Lord of the Rings series which is supposed to come out sometime in 2021. Amazon studios has even said that everything else is on a backburner, all hands on deck for LOTR, which is taking place during the Second Age of Middle Earth after the fall of Morgoth and the first rise of Sauron, and which ended with the destruction of Numenor by Illúvatar.

Because after the fall of Numenor, the world was reshaped and a large portion of the known world dissapeared in the ocean. Several years ago when I decided to watch the complete Stargate Series, I began watching it on Netflix, however on one of those periodic updates the series was no longer on Netflix. It had moved to Amazon Prime video. That's when I decided to sign up for the Amazon Prime. Back when the video portion was considered an extra feature of Prime and not a main reason to sign up. To me only reason to sign up was to watch the Stargate Series. The free shipping, books, etc. was secondary. I've had it ever since.

I also like to see 2 movies in an alternate universe NR.1 apophis conquerors the earth (in atleast one he succeeed), the wraith somehow made it to earth And Asgard and goaul'd are about to loose, which make them decide to make an alliance against the wraith who wins doesn't matter 2nd a few of the The milky way replicators. Survived and make their way to another galaxy and they managed to get to the Pegasus replicators, which causes them go to the Ida galaxy together, however the Asgard win ,and salvages their technology, which caused them to help the tauri with ZPM's at the end of the movie the the replicator creating device is found by the Tauri and Asgard, the asgard reprogramming it to make biological body's, this universe has a bright future And a 3rd movie to reboot the franchise, Mackay screwing up again He is trying to make a new hyperdrive ,and instead of different universe's it's time travel After they find out how to control it, they get all Asgard's before they blow them self's up ,and explain how they can survive without the clone problem, they also snatching a few ZPMS thought time travel (before they find out how to control it) Which is because of it a slightly reboot whihc gives us our Thor back and the one who is on the Daedalus
