Alien3 (the "assembly cut") is STILL my fave out of all the Alien franchise movies. Work of art on so many levels. The dog alien (along with the warrior in "Resurrection") is my fave design too. Thanks again for all your hard work on this - so much patience and time went into this, and even though I know the history pretty well, I loved watching every minute.

No it is just the ones that think they are die hards that signal that they know all. Resurrection is a hoot and is up there with the original and Aliens. I don’t listen to the ones that think they know best and think they are the arbiters of everything Alien.

The reason i love Prometheus so much is besause the first time i watched it, i did not know it was Alien movie, i remember going on google typing alien - prometheus, after watching it and then relising it was a prequel.

I kinda hated that Prometheus got tied into Aliens... Prometheus was good enough to stand alone and become its own Sci-fi franchise with the looking for God complex...jat🤔

The future of Disney Alien was sealed today. At the executives meeting everybody agreed the aliens need to not be in boring gray to black colors anymore, but be as bright as a coral reef and in the same colours as the Pride flag, the "minor attracted person" colour being the most prominent one. The new actors personalities will be switched to NPC gray though.

G'day from Melbourne Australia...so totally informative, I'm totally blown away by the amount of information. Um, I vividly remember seeing Alien (1979) after it came out, I was absolutely in awe. Over the years, I've seen every instalment, Aliens, Alien 3, Resurrection, Prometheus, Covenant and now Alien : Romulus - the timeline always fascinated me, along with trying to imagine potential outcomes etc., such as the continued story of Walter, and the 2000 colonists and 1140 human embryos at the end of Alien : Covenant, and of course Capitan Daniels. As for favourite movie, impossible to choose. Um, I've seen the Definitive videos for the franchise, there's several questions I've had for sometime. The eggs found on LV426, where did they come from? In Aliens, the ship Nuet's parents were investigating, was this the same ship from Alien? In Romulus, the Xenomoph that came from Navaro, why did it gestate in a cocoon apparently on a bulkhead, oh and why was the creature from the Nostromo cocooned in space to be retrieved by the Echo probe in Romulus? I think that is all for the moment. I look forward to more extraordinary videos and future movies...

Andy has become one of my new favorite characters and I loved all the easter eggs in romulus watched 6 times and even brought my own drinking bird theres so much that could be done with the franchise like david is actually running wyland utani or theres another entity overlord bring in the predators the faction that gave humanity the suit maybe delve more into the race memory thing like resurrection that you could reverse engineer an alien to get back a human and that could tie in with an overlord character with the ability to rebirth for immortality I could go on and on😂

I can still remember being a teenager and beginning college and reading the book and then seeing the movie and recalling how both book and movie scared the beejesus out of me (the movie moreso bc I was seeing what the book had described. I became a fan immediately. I am currently watching Prometheus over and over bc of its many problems. Scott producing some of his own movies was a signal to me (perhaps others) that he knew he had a pos movie but if it was going to be made, he would wear two hats as producer and director. How does a several pound robot get so easily pushed by his "sister" in Prometheus? How come those "pops" couldn't find them a way out ahead of the others leaving? How does the PhD (not a real doctor) say "...we need more time here...," when a storm is bearing down on the location? "David" is a murderer, how does he get to that stage of his development? Does Weyland program murder into the robot? Why are all of the robots "compromised"? Lots more questions. The retros should never have been made..., but someone's ego needed the cash.

I thought Resurrection was a great movie. Prometheus and covenant were great movies also. Then Romulus, although predictable, was great also. Looking back on the entire series Alien 3 was a misfire, while AVP/AVR, although entertaining were more Predator movies. 😊

The opening scenes from Alien III almost made me walk out of the theater. From that moment forward, the movie was dead to me. I got dragged to seeing the fourth Alien film. While it was better than 3, I hated it for the most part. After that, the franchise in movie form became dead to me. For me, there's Alien and Aliens, and that's it.

Disney will destroy Alien franchise as well as they destroyed Star Wars. Even letting Ridley in is a major turn off. He managed to create the first movie well (but not by himself!) and suddenly regardless of all flops he manufactures (with Prometheus, Covenant among others…) he is still being allowed to damage the Alien legacy even more. Sad. Romulus had a great potential, but it was wasted by Ridley’s influence in the end (with that pseudo engineer kind of creature and of course that idiotic ”black goo fetishism”). Giving Alien to Disney is a terrible mistake. That’s a pity that we will never see ”Alien 5” that Neill Blomkamp together with Sigourney Weaver herself wanted to film…

IMO Romulus was just a safe bet. The other "prequel" films just failed to deliver. I did like Romulus and I'm not part of the younger audience. I think the film was good for what it was. I only dislike the ending just because it went to long sort speak. The weird human engineer alien was just a bit too much. But again IMO. In any case great work as always. Have you done a Baylon 5 video yet? I'm still new to your channel. Just barely subbed after the ST: Enterprise vid. Thats my OG sci fi show that made me love that genre.

Fitcher gets the bad rep of killing of Newt and Hicks.I know it was far from his fault and even I can't forgive him for it. Alien 3 was kinda a meh movie even if we get past the initial knee jerk reaction of screwing the continuity. Only Ripley farewell was well done. Alien 4 is weird. I actually really like a lot of about the movie. Especially Ripley, her resurrection and her coming to grasp with it? Just excellent. I even like the pirates :-D It's the how it overaly doesn't fit together and the army 'presence' that let it down as a good movie. AVP1 was well done and enjoyable movie. I don't try to consider it a canon to alien franchise but I think they managed to portray both part well. Especially with Bishop being the Weyland. AVP2 sadly was downgrade and not worth watching (even if I always chuckle remembering the scene "There are no monster!" after the daugher got scared actually seeing Alien outside the window - and isn't that a scary scenario...) But the biggest disappointment and my most hate pseudo-Alien movie (cause I would rather accept AVP2 as canon) is the Prometheus... Ridley Scott being back promised something great. Instead we get that shit. And the reason? F.U.C.K.I.N.G. Lindelof. I despise that bastard since LOST. Creating mysteries without solution with reasoning "If there is no asnwer the viewers can't see through" and thinking it's a smart? Someone should have smack him (probably did as a child...) but for sure NO ONE should let him touch any script ever again. And yet here we were, destroying what could have been Alien prequel.

As a Die Hard Alien movie fan,I though that Alien 3 and Romulus both sucked.My favorite of course is Aliens directed by James Cameron.I don't know if I would give Alien 3 another viewing,now that I know there's a so called "Assembly Cut",which of course is a "Directors Cut" whatever it may be called.I didn't like Romulus because of all the no names,especially "Children" being the USMC crew,the special effects were cool,but,I won't be buying it on 4K or watching it again.
