Been listening to him since early 2013, his music never gets old and he always finds something to rap about. He is a god with words and says them with the best possible beats. Keep listening to him and fall in deep to your thoughts

I've never really liked rap (except for tøp), but ever since you explained "Why" and I went and watched the video...I've found myself getting more and more into NF. I have a lot more pain and fear in my life right now than I'm used to handling, and I guess it just seems like his music is meeting me where I'm at. Come to think of it, that's how I got into tøp back in 2016, as well...

In ways, NF is a lot like Twenty One Pilots. Christian themes, emotional deep lyrics covering fear and being so vulnerable. NF is the TOP of pure rap and he's amazing at what he does

NF is one of those guys that sounds like he freestyles the whole thing in one go because of how deep it gets. Also that last line: "Cause I thought you had me in prison this whole time, but I'm the one holdin' the keys" Sends chills up my spine every time.

Hey Clifford, I'd like to apologize for something I did a few months back. I left quite a rude comment on your 'top 7 worst twenty one pilots songs' video. I have since then re-watched the video, this time factoring in that it was your opinion, and that you're a professor. It really isn't like me to do things like this and I apologize for what I've said. The comment has been deleted. Now since I'm writing a comment anyway, let me just express how much I actually love your videos! Your explanations are detailed and easy to understand, and your roasts of modern pop songs make me laugh. Keep up the amazing work, can't wait to see what you have in store for us next video! :)

5:38 I think people are still missing the incredibly clever duality of his use of "deep": his Fear is mocking the depth of NF's songs and calling them typical of NF, but he's also standing there watching NF ignore him and continuing to dig a hole, making the offhand observation "alright, [that HOLE] is pretty deep, isn't it??" You get hit with both meanings, when you think about it, and realize the frustration and drive of NF to deal with his Fear and dig that hole deeper to keep Fear farther away.

Oh man this video is so good! Intro III means a lot to me personally because I thought I was living in a prison for the past years and now I'm taking control of my life. And the TØP references are the best. I do that all the time... 😂😂😂

This was great! I loved hiw you described everything. You're right about the part where he let fear have a foothold on his life. However, what he truly means when he says, "You didn't want me to live in your house? You shouldn't have let me move in." Is in reference to his song mansion which is what this whole song is really a followup to. He considers his mind a home he is trapped in. A place where fear is always lingering. Listen to mansion and then Intro III!

The first time I listened to this song I just liked the intense orchestra music building up dramatically in the background cause I absolutely LOVE it when artists mix unlikely genres like that. The more I listened I thought maybe it was about an abusive relationship in a more literal sense. Today I listened and it totally hit me exactly what perspective the lyrics are written from. Absolutely amazing I was blown away

Cliff I love the explanation! However, you state that pain in not necessary to experience love. I disagree only in that the contrast of emotions allows us to more full experience the other side. Light to dark, happy to sad, pain to pleasure. Without each we can know the other.

I HAVE A CHALLENGE/EXPERIMENT FOR YOU. You should try to explain a song with a positive connotation for an artist that you don't like. Like post Malone, maybe? And see how it goes. I would personally be curious how much power you have over the meaning of a song! How much you can actually spin a god-awful song to be a really good song!!
