Really liked this sermon. The only thing I would add is: don't forget to keep praying about the relationship (from the beginning until the marrige and forever in marriage) and each of you.

This is what I want. To get married, have kids, raise mini disciples. Be active in a church, Lead a Bible study, and help those around me. That’s always what I’ve wanted sense I was in my 20’s. Men ask the woman for her number and make sure you call her not text her. Also some good advice for both men and woman ask the person if they would like to take an hr a night to get to know them better. I did this and it worked and I’m making time for him even though I get tired after work.

Could yall do a sermon on not being passive/Ahab? How a Christian should stop and not allow manipulation/toxicity while also putting others needs above themselves? How to set up healthy boundaries to stop people from continually hurting you?

I have never seen a pastor/speaker lay out the process of Christ centered dating so clearly and thoroughly. Where was this message ten plus years ago? It's about the time the church actually started addressing the dating process rather than just the traditional "don't do this, don't do that." Well done Pastor David and the Porch!

there's another pastor who did a splendid job on talking about dating (Ben Stuart). look up his sermon series when you get the chance: Single Dating Engaged Married.

My ex broke up with me thru text and chat, he said that he won't be able to say what he said in text in personal. I want a personal closure but til the end he doesn't give a thing about me, til the end I feel disrespected. But that's okay, I'm doing much better now. Hoping to find my true soulmate but first, I need to recover from this. And thanks to this vid, I realize my self-worth. I don't hate him that much but I still can't wish for his happiness. I hope someday I'll be able to move on from this.

My own opinion on how „dates“ should happen that allows clarity, intentionality, and you can really know eachother very well: 1. you spotted someone at church that you felt ATTRACTED to. 2. since you don‘t know this person, you pay more attention to them on GROUP hangouts, there you have the chance to engage in direct conversations and get to know eachother and build FRIENDSHIP (why oh why are we skipping this step??) 3. you exercise self-control and patience by not letting yourself be lead by infatuation and take your calm time to know this person in FRIENDSHIP. 4. Once you feel you know them well enough, THEN the date happens (public setting of course). 5. once you date a couple of times (taking a couple of months) you can decide if u wanna marry her (NOT A RELATIONSHIP) relationships are not biblical, and lead to getting in temptation settings because by getting in a „relationship“ you are already conforming to the society standards, so you‘ll feel presured to follow certain „practices“ that would probably lead you to the „cheap wife/girlfriend syndrome“ by giving him wife treatment while he has not decided to make u his wife and also very probably to sexual inmmorality.😢 BUT if you decide to go the „relationship“ way, make sure it won‘t last YEARS, and you both set healthy physical boundaries (run from temptation) in that period, a man can know if he wants to get married to someone in no more than a year….

If a guy starts showing interest on me and I like him, I will show same interest and abstain myself from „dating“ other guys or show interest I don‘t need the „girlfriend“ title for that, is called „respect“. If I show interest I mean it and is not to any guy, and I think most godly women do the same. Showing interest/flirting without meaning it, is completely selfish.

Also on the „get to know eachother part“ where you decided to pursue this friendship in a more meaningful way, you TALK with your community, pastor, discipler, parents (pick one I guess) for advice and accountability. This is extremely important.

I agree with most of what you said. however in step five i would offer a rebuttal. Just because i'm in a relationship with someone doesn't mean i'm conforming to society standards. I have met plenty of couples who did date each other for years and remained faithful to each other before marriage. Also time is an ally in many cases.

You seem to mention what culture expects you would get a 10/10 if. We're abiding by societal standards but I think in biblical dating we should rely and depend on God for it we are set apart from the world for a reason.

A „NO“ is a full sentence. They don‘t owe you an explanation, and if they decided not to give details it would be probably to not hurt you further. So take the no, and move on.
@PresbianTier
@PresbianTier Жыл бұрын
@@beccaarauz I agree that they don't owe you an explanation. I would add that by moving on, you talk to your own spiritual leader (Pastor, Mentor, Teacher, etc) to gain further wisdom. Especially if this is concerning someone you want to marry.
