No Saturday without the Ghost Town Vlog❣️👻 Amazing work you put into this property. I am very sure the previous owner is pleased to see it, who wouldn't? 😊 You caught a double rainbow, those are rare. Weird that the rain is still on, but it was the same here in Turkey until the end of May, which is not normal. You could have needed some help building that solar panel roof, but you master so much on your own, good you are tall. 🎉 I loved the clip from the early morning (my favourite time) and the last glimpse of the house and land from the drone. Looks stunning!❤ I hope you can get the land next to you, would be really great extension.... And a lot more work. 😅 Have a nice week!

It's a porch, or a veranda, or a patio. Most people I know use those terms interchangeably (I'm in the western US). Fun to see Zoe & Akira protecting you by barking down the thunderclouds.

Hey, Jasper! I don't know if you are aware, but there is a reason you angle solar panels up to the sun. It's called the 'angle of insolation', which basically means the further towards the poles you are, the lower the angle of the sun relative to the ground, and so the higher the angle the panels must be tilted. The general rule of thumb is to use latitude as the 'optimum' or best guess, so your latitude at Castelo is about 39degN, so the panels should be at a similar angle to maximise insolation - and so maximise power generation. The lower the angle, the less power you will get from them. Now I gather you had the old 'mixed voltage strings' issue, as you mentioned the string with the least panels affected the other, and this is a common problem with offgrid solar setups with mismatched 'strings' of panels, or mismatched current/voltage. Whichever is the lesser, the one with the greater capacity reduces output to match. I don't know why either. Electrickery. It just does this. So there are a couple of things you can do to fix this, but the simplest is to utilise an MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracker) as this has the effect of cancelling out the votage/current differences and maximises power output. Sometimes you need a MPPT for each 'string'. So, given this previous problem, you might not immediately realise you aren't producing as much power as you *could be*, becasue you might actually be making a little bt more than you were before, but with the panels on the near flat roof, I can assure you, total production is reduced, over time. So EITHER you need to angle the panels as they were in the garden, OR add some more panels at the same flat angle to increase overall power production. It can be a seriously noticeable loss, going from 30+ deg 'angle of insolation' down to what, about 15deg...??? That's like half. So if you were not aware of this issue of the angle, be aware now! My suggestion would be to put more plastic corrugated roof sheets where the solar is, and then use the old aluminium angled mounts to put the panels up to the correct angle, on top of the roofign sheets. This way you avoid the leaks and have a much larger waterproof outdoor area. And don't have to look at the underside of the panels! I think it WAS a 'porch' but now with a roof over it it is a 'verandah'. But the terms are semi-interchangeable. I would go with verandah, as it's a bit more upmarket. lol Good luck with the solar..!! You are making good progress with the restoration. And your colleague is doing great things with the gardens. Enjoy! Cheers Mark in Oz

Did you fix your posts to the concrete? I hope so as it would be a shame to loose the panels in a storm.😊
@19bigred557 ай бұрын
You should connect the posts to the concrete to protect from wind. Might want to invest in a impact driver as straining your drill driving screws is not good for the drill. Chipping freshly cut branches will run and feed much better in your chipper. Great job on the solar install.

Jasper, to the looks of it, thats an old key. You know that thoose keys has han corrisponding number ingraved right? Thoose are most of time, atleast at you homeland, nit be made by a keymaker, but they just have thoose😜 and the number corrispons with the number on the lock itself. Basicly... Your never out of keys in the end😋 That is... If i am not mistaken, but the interior locks in the 60s 70s were like that and the key look from that time atleast😜🤣

The word veranda, likely derived from the Portuguese word varanda, meaning "long balcony or terrace." Extending along the outside of a building, this architectural structure has a roof and usually opens up to the outside.and covers a large area A veranda is a common feature on houses at a beach resort or in other warm climates.usually built right on the ground and a porch is built in front of the building entrance. It is an outside extension on the same floor level as the interior. Porches can often be enclosed for protection from the weather, insects, and other external factors. Sometimes, the enclosure is more stylistic and consists of columns, railings, or short walls. In other cases, a porch can be entirely isolated with screens or full-height walls. Finally, porches are always covered, mainly by a roof extension.and usually built up off the ground, --- From "UNDERSTANDING THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PORCH, PATIO, VERANDAH, OR LANAI ENCLOSURE' by Antony the Researcher 😁
