Another freebie from the DT are flowers! The loose flowers that have come off of their stems or garlands and are just singles, they will let you have them because they’re going to put them in the trash. Yes, you’ll have mismatched flowers, but you can paint or spray them to give uniform colors or keep as they are for colorful spring and summer projects. TFS this idea! (And a perfect time with wrapping paper being 50% or more off!)

Gorgeous! Imagine buying a nicely decorated storage box, how much that would be? In the next few days most of the stores will be discounting wrapping paper. The boxes are for free... I'm just so gripped by the way of how beautifully I would store my craft supplies in my cabinets, shelves ... Oh yes, in my space a soft mint green would fit. I would have a hard time finding that at a dollar or thrift store. I'd go to a home improvement store and buy some discounted wallpaper, the thinner kind, if it is self-sticking, so much the better. Or use discounted contact paper. My fingers start itching to make these! In the last couple of days I've been searching for nice storage boxes online, but the good-looking ones are stiffly priced. Thank you so much Shery, for showing me the solution to my "problem".

I smiled big time when I saw you upcycling storage from retail displays! As a teacher for 34 years, I have been a die-hard container collector. There are cardboard pieces I covered with Contac paper DECADES ago that still served me on a daily basis until I retired. I gifted them to the Science store room to continue serving as organization for sets of equipment. My own craft storage includes commercial containers but also the upcycled store cardboard. Walmart shelves were full of empty cardboard displays yesterday as the last of the Christmas clearance aisles dwindled down. Also, a good time to find these containers is right after school starts when the extra shelves of school supplies are emptying out. Look for the carts where employees are consolidating displays and filling the carts with all of the old display cardboard.

I love all your ideas, and if, for whatever reason, a project ain't one I'd normally do, I love how you 'plant' an idea that I can look at something a different way, and maybe by tweaking your idea with my own thoughts, I can make it my own and make it fit my needs. I have just recently been 'bitten' by the Craft Bug again and now I'm 63 and loving finding new ways to craft, so THANK YOU for all your ideas, they are very much appreciated. You can cover these in different holiday & occasion wrapping papers and store items related to that Holiday or occasion in them, making it faster & easier to find just what you need for a project. It would be nice to also be able to make one box for male & one for female birthday items. Also makes it easy to keep your craft room organized because you can come home from a haul at the Dollar Tree and be able to quickly put the items away in a relevant box, where you know where to find them even 6 months later. Thank you for sharing this! I love re-purposed items!

Sherry, Your latest video about getting free boxes from Dollar Tree was 100% timely! I have a cardboard fabric cutting board that needed a table to set it up. I thought about all the copy paper boxes I have been collecting so rather than spend $50 or more for a folding table, I arranged the empty copy paper boxes (about 10 of them), standing some on end others on the side on top. Then I used paper clips to put them together. I used foam board to clip the boxes on top for a secure flat surface for the board and the sides to keep the boxes in place. I also have a few of the half copy paper boxes that can fit inside the larger ones. I taped and reinforced as needed and now I need more clips to finish and I want to look for small boxes like the one you covered in the video. I have lots of fabric to organize and I want to use those odd shaped boxes as drawers for the inside of the storage boxes. You are correct, I may not be interested in ALL your projects but I do get a lot of good ideas from every one I have watched. Thanks for so many great ideas. I love watching you create so many interesting crafts from boxes and paper. You are a woman after my own heart!

I’m not a crafter, but occasionally I enjoy watching your videos. Before I retired from teaching math, sometimes in the summer, I did workshops with teachers. If I still did that, I would definitely show them one of your videos as an example of how to do a demonstration. You are an excellent teacher. I wanted to comment about getting free things from stores. A lot of the display items stores use are temporary . Example may be a rack with soda on it that is seasonal or some other special display to thrown away after its designated time. If you go to the manager and talk to them , most love to give things to teachers. I had many things in my classroom for storage that came from supermarkets. I know an elementary school teacher that had an M& M character figure that had a big open hole in it that. I guess the M&Ms were originally in. She kept recess stuff in it. It never hurts to ask if they’re going to throw it out most would like it to be reused. Many of the items are surprisingly sturdy as they don’t want them collapsing in the store. It would never hurt to ask if you see a disposable item. You would like all they can do is say no. Stay safe.

A whole beautiful set could be custom made for my new craft room!!!!!!! What a great idea. And people like that are the same people who leave a review on a recipe about how it didn't come out right and it was awful and then they proceed to explain that they added more of this and took out something else, totally changing the recipe and then complaining that it didn't come out right. Sometimes it's best just to shut up, lol. I love this idea. It's free, it's customizable, and it can be used for so many things. And that catch all for your current project is perfect. I've never thought of asking for such displays! Genius! Thank you so much for sharing! My favorite part was when you said to the negative thinkers.......I'll probably do it again! 😆 🤣 😂 I so wish we lived close because i know we'd be great friends AND probably get in trouble with remarks! ❤❤❤ Absolutely agree people need to keep negative thoughts to themselves!!

15:02 “Please don’t feel like you need to leave me a comment telling me the 101 reasons why you would never do a craft like this.” I could leave a comment telling the 101 reasons why I would do a craft like this! Outstanding idea and video! Thank you!

I really like that idea. Sherry, let your light shine.

Sherri, this is such a clever use of trash! Turning an item that is meant to be thrown away into a handy, sturdy craft (or other use) container is just great. It may not be something I need to do and use today, BUT your video will be there for us when we do need a container like this. GREAT JOB🥰🥰 this has also given me ideas for covering cereal boxes to store work in progress.
