This is doable! Everyone has paper towel tubes. Directions are very easily understood. The supplies are shown and this do it yourself is an answer for the top hats for my styrofoam ball ornaments I am making snowmen out of. And I don’t have to shop for supplies! Just adorable! Many Thanks

Yeah Patricia! What a great idea. And thanks Sherry for showing us how to make it. I was lucky enough to buy 10 of the hats at my Dollar Tree Saturday, now I'm kinda sorry I didn't buy them out. May go back, but if I don't what a great alternative this is!!!
@ThePoshPaperLady5 жыл бұрын
“Hats off” to Patricia😀😀. It was a great idea! At least you were able to get 10!! Did you get a mixture of the solid and the plaid. Or did you get 10 of one style? I think they are both super cute😀😀

Made my first snowman today (the 3 box one). I gave him some pink cheeks and lined the boxes with matching paper. I also used a light chipboard for the sides of the covers because my paper was pretty thin. I really like the boxes are big enough to put some treasures in! Soooo cute! I bought 6 red and 4 black hats. I have tons of dollar trees around me so heading out tomorrow to see if I can find more.

We needed 35 snowmen for table favors. We saved the K cups from Keurig Coffee Makers, cleaned them out, pushed the perforation back into the hole, painted them black and decorated them, glued 2 styrofoam balls together, glued them to a base of a circle of black cardstock, then glued the K cup hats on. Cute, not a lot of work. I love your hat idea, and it's probably quicker than ours, but we used what we had available at the time. Several people saving K cups and donating styrofoam balls and these were done in a jiffy.

Love it! One suggestion: for the top of the hat, it might be a little bit easier to put the glue on the end of the tube and cut off the excess (sort of like you did the brim, but I would use my wet glue). Going home and digging in my Christmas paper!!!!

This is awesomeness! I went into dollar tree today and it looks like they are adding more Christmas items. I noticed that when you started the tutorial you already had punched out the circles for the base of the hat. You had said the size of the circles but not what materials you had to use. Was that plain black cardstock on the outside and inside was that chipboard?
