To be honest, this one wins purely on price point. The Knight Bus is amazing but will be out of many people's budget and when you consider it's over double the price of this one, a few excellent items can't make up for that fact.

Cinereplicas really does a great job on their advent calendars. I like the lock, that's a clever way to make sure kids don't open up more than one day. Also, loved the Mr Bean reference on the socks. I love warm fun socks at Christmas. My grandma would do socks for the older grandkids and adults in the family. You can never go wrong with warm socks. The golden snitch socks were my favorite.

Some will like the calendars and prices, some won’t and I don’t want to sway anyone either way. I’ve seen others completely bash and over share their opinions and I’m thinking: okay, someone probably really liked it, was excited to open it themselves, and now they are going to feel bad or stupid for liking it OR it is a lower priced calendar or one they can afford and now you’ve ruined their joy. So I just show. 😄

This isn’t my idea of a “deluxe” box. I wish they would offer a box with nicer items. I’d love to see a normal sized (not mini) Honeydukes themed stationary/desk set. A mouse pad, desk pad, desktop planner, full sized stationary and notes, pens, pen/pencil holder. Something really nice for my office. That is deluxe.

I’m failing to see how this is deluxe. I’d love someone to sit and total up the items to get a fair idea on how much this really would cost to purchase. I found last years I had that one. The box was cheap. It broke apart by the end of opening all days. For the price point I paid I was disappointed with the quality. I think this year I want to try a different one. So far I am in love with the Knight bus one but the price point is 😮 who spends 150 bucks on an advent calendar. If its US dollars then I will pass will cost me almost 200 bucks Canadian.

I love advents, especially HP ones but I feel the products can be so wasteful being plastic, balloons etc. I’d much prefer a metal cookie cutter and the bags material looked like it felt a bit cheap. 😢

I hate to be the Grinch here but I continue to be disappointed in this and really any official HP advent calendar. It is better than last year’s and the outer design is very cute. But they have access to all the trademarks, a team of designers, yet every year they put the most generic items in these calendars just with an equally generic Harry Potter design put on. Sure, if you’re a young fan and don’t have much of a collection yet it could be nice. But if you had one, you basically had them all, no need to buy another the next year. I get some items are always kinda nice and useful, socks and post-its maybe. But how many erasers, coasters and tote bags does one actually need? If that’s what you enjoy to collect and have multiples of there’s absolutely no shame in that of course. But I feel like you could easily create a calendar like this or better yourself for much less the price. If I compare this to how thoughtful small businesses are with their products, some like Cauldron Crate or Wizarding Trunk who have created amazing calendars in the past, it’s just striking how little love seems to go into these official ones for sometimes horrendous prices. And it is sad because they would have the resources to create something great. That’s nothing to say against you Peter of course, I appreciate you showing us what’s out there and always love Christmas content! 🎄
