The foam hair rollers were a fantastic tip. As a man with a shaved head I didn't even know those existed in that length. Definitely gonna keep an eye out for them, thanks.

@@ThePotteryWheel I have definitely noticed that, bought a ton of tools just starting out and they're still in their packaging while I use cut up key cards, forks, and clothes pins 🤷♂️

Lol, I'm glad it helped. I was a little embarrassed to include it because I thought it was a bit weird, but a couple of people have said it was helpful, so I'm glad I did!

The foam rollers are a brilliant idea!!! Went to take a look at how you made the mold and it’s soo awesome!! I can’t believe I have never put my strips together BEFORE I make the foot! So sillly how we get used to doing something and don’t think about how it could be done more easily!! Thank you sooo very very much for your videos.

Thank you so much for your video and the wonderful firing technical articles on your website. I was wondering in your first example at which point you should add a texture.❤
@ThePotteryWheel2 жыл бұрын
Hi Cindy, thanks for your kind comments. I'd say, add texture after you've cut the slab with the template and allowed it to firm up a bit, then add the texture before you curve up the edges.

funnily enough they are foam rollers used to curl hair. You can buy them on amazon. Just search for foam hair curlers!

To make a notched rib. Like you said cut from credit cards or plastic. Except use a hand held hole puncher then cut down the middle of the hole. You get two ribs.

Great video. I love the foam hair curlers tip. What type of material did you have the rice in and about how much rice? A few cups of rice? Thank you for sharing.
@ThePotteryWheel2 жыл бұрын
sorry for the slow reply! I just use an old cut up t-shirt or sheet. Nothing special. And I vary the amount of rice depending on the size of the plate. I don't think there is a 'correct' amount. Just make sure that the rice bag isn't to big and putting pressure on the rim of the plate. Hope that helps :)

I love the video. But I am very new to this idea, and I couldn't understand how it gor the color and became shinny. Can you give more information?

What type of table cloth are you using? Is it vinyl with a cotton type backing or an actual cloth?
