Superb video, so glad to be a subscriber. I just bought a load of STEK for my new car, looking forward to applying it later. This has been a useful video. Thanks.

Good and pretty crazy testing. So even results? What do you think of the Llumar Valor film compared to these?
@Jonzie001015 жыл бұрын
Stek is by far the best in the industry. It's like butter to install and has incredable stretch. As for rock chips, when 3m pro series and xpel ultimate take a bad rock chip it rips out a chip size chunk of film with it. Stek rock chips don't do this because it's less rigid than other films and has more give. I have had no warranty claims since switching over to Stek a year ago... none! Also, using a torch over a heat gun is a great way to remove scratches faster and more effectively but only if done by an experienced installer as to not burn through film and paint. Informative video. That screwdriver was frightening though!

Careful if you get Xpel products anywhere. The main company does NOT stand behind its product with its so called life time warranty on its tint or its dealers (or customers for that matter.) I had to go thru mediation and threaten to sue them just to get a refund on the brutal issues I had with one of their dealers that damaged my car and did a piss poor job. The tint they used also was not optically clear and had an orange peel to it.

How much less damage if there is Ceramic Pro on top of the XPel Ultimate Plus?? I have both, the Ceramic pro adds the shine and hydrophic properties on top of the protection.
@rodstawaa5 жыл бұрын

@creamfalcon3 жыл бұрын
@@rodstawaa Thank you for this comment. I got full XPEL on my Shelby and when I heard people pay MORE to do ceramic over the film that made zero sense to me. The only value I see in ceramic pro is on the wheels to somewhat protect and/or clean brake dust easier.
@rodstawaa3 жыл бұрын
@@creamfalcon absolutely. A top grade PPF will have hydrophobic self healing properties build in. Not only will a coating not add much to the PPF in my experience it doesn’t bond well to PPF either as the PPF is designed to resist bonding of foreign materials.

Which is the more optically clear? I have a black car and looking for maximum clarity.
@ethanhaessig5840 Жыл бұрын
That mostly depends on your installer. Proper prep and installation will ultimately decide clarity. I’d some almost all the films are the same in clarity unless you’re using absolute junk material

You can double-stack the PPF in high-impact areas and you could just replace the second layer as needed. The one at the bottom should last some 10 years, I'd argue.

If you applied one of these products, and after 10 years of gravel hitting them, you had to replace the film. How would that price ( 2 layers) compare to having your hood or bumper repainted?
@AELiev5 жыл бұрын
The point is not to see whats cheaper- repainting or PPF. The point is to preserve factory paint as well as possible, because nothing can ever replicate it.
@qleap995 жыл бұрын
And I would say, factory paint or not, the value is in how the vehicle looks from year one through 9 with PPF versus naked paint.
@rkgsd Жыл бұрын
Repainted surfaces never look exactly the shame as the factory paint, therefore it's best to protect the original paint for as long as possible.
