The newly released excavation report, 'Must Farm pile-dwelling settlement': Volume 2, Chapter 17, concerns itself with the necklace and beads found at the site. Buried in the chapter is truly one of the most remarkable aspects of the whole excavation to come out: that the people who lived here possessed exotica from way beyond their assumed reach - that the glass beads in a necklace came from 3,000 miles away in Iran.
"Britain's Pompeii" - Must Farm - is not just a Bronze Age settlement of ordinary farming folk. These people had wealth, influence very likely - and connection.
