This song is known in Pennsylvania… Philadelphia to be exact. “ Oh Dem Golden Slipper’s “ was played on New Year’s day by The Mummer’s. I was tour Guide in my teens ( now 57 yrs old) .( Along with my Mom who got me involved. She was the outgoing one but I ended up coming out of my Shy-ness to give Tours from out -of -town Customers at the Mummer’s Museum at 2nd & Washington Ave ) We mentioned this song in outperform Tour ( My Parent’s & myself were Volunteers for the Museum for quite awhile . I even worked there on Sundays during my 16-18 yrs of age. My Mom meant for me to hear this today! My Mama was a HUGE Fan if this song & I heard it played quite religiously. How fitting today would have been my Parent’s 63rd Wedding Anniversary I believe. May 12,2023 THANK YOU SO MUCH 😊 ❤ ~Anita S.
