Katie, you should make a stamp for your jewelry business (like a logo) and stamp it on all of your packages you mail out! You could also make stamps for thank you cards, or greeting cards. An old fashioned Christmas tree would be cute!

Ahhh i block print too. Huge fun - i’d say try small designs and draw a box along the edges put your design in it, saves material. Then cut the square out on completion. Your black frame should be placed over the edge of the table, near your tummy, the lip of the tray hooked over the edge - keep your medium against the top edge then, it prevents it moving. Be careful how you wipe those sharp edges, cut fingers incoming! I do a variety of printing methods, all great fun. 🎉 Gel printing next? Can combine them. Doing a good job there girl, just preserve your material as much as possible. Ps I used acrylic / plastic sheet for paints -

You did a great job Katie. I learned to do this in my Industrial Arts glass in 7th grade. I can’t remember everything about how to do it now because that was about 43 years ago, but from what I do remember, you’re gonna be great at this. You’re a talented artist on several fronts Katie. Stick with it. Prayers will continue for sure. Thanks for sharing your new learning project with us. Be well & take care.

This was really interesting cause I had never heard or seen this. I have crafted all my life. So I realize the importance of having a hobby especially in creating or making something. Most crafters give away or sell their things like you already do with your jewelry. I’m a quilter but I also crochet and do hand embroidery. You did a GREAT job on your first project!!! I’m still praying for all the states and people hit by both hurricanes.

When I was in high school many moons ago we were given a Linoleum tile to make a block print. I carved out the front of my VW Bug on mine and printed it. Yay, Katie! Branching out to printmaking. You’ll love it, and I think it’s a medium you’re perfect for, drawing-wise. Next time, take the time to carve out the negative space of the plate. It makes the print look more traditional and the little lines from the carving look nice. Plus, printing a print is much easier, especially when you start doing two or more ink passes.

You are so artistically talented, Katie. I wish God had spread out those talents a little more. LOL Seems like so many people who are good at music are also good at painting, or like you make jewelry and also can do block prints. Of course you're still learning, but I wonder if there's a way to set up a mirror so that you could see it better while cutting backwards. It won't take you too much practice to get good at that. Yesterday I dropped off some stuff at the community college there in Murphy. I'll try to get some more stuff sometime soon to take up there. Continued prayers for the people affected by both the hurricanes. 🙏

You could also print on bandanas like you wear in your hair. When I want to try something new I watch "how to" videos on KZbin first. You can learn how to do anything on KZbin! I’ve been having fun making things with air dry clay. No kiln or baking needed. When it’s dry and hard you can paint it with acrylic paint and spray it with a shiny finish. I make little animals, little trinket dishes and raised designs on a square tile that can be displayed hung or on a table/countertop.

Katie, this is just a thought, but I used to do block printing and I found it's much better to carve on linoleum tiles. If you can get some leftovers from a floor tiling job, or buy some random tiles from someplace like LOWES or another store of that type, I think it will be easier to carve. Your flower is really good. It looks very traditional.

I think it's cute hun. You can print that in white paint on a piece of material that is cranberry colored and maybe add a wooden dowel to each end to hang it on the wall. You could even twist it and dip the material (after putting the painted stamp on) in a bleach and water combination and kinda make a batique or tie dye type thing that would be all your design! And then make a bracelet in beads and brown leather with the same colors and sell it as a package deal.
