I can honestly say that whatever success our generation, including me, has achieved is because of him. I went to college in 93 and got a job because of the good economy he created. Had I gone to college in the 80ies, things would have been very different. So thank you, Prime Minister Rao, for everything I own in my life. I wish I could have said this in person. You are the greatest leader India has produced but not yet realized. Leaders do things to stay in power year after year, but you had the courage to change India, even if it meant getting only one term. Great leaders do not remain in office forever. They make hard decisions and are happy to see how they shaped the future for so many people. So thank you again we will keep you in our hearts forever.

The Highway in Hyderabad ( to the new airport) is named after Shri PVNarsimha Rao to compensate for the fact that the airport was being named after Rajiv Gandhi. The new hyd airport was conceived and developed by Chandra Babu Naidu while in power with an idea to name it either after NTR or PV Narsimha Rao. However, When congress ( YSR) came in power later, they hijacked the Airport project to name it Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, that was a time when every new scheme/ project in the undivided AP was being named either after Indira or Rajiv. Amidst a public outrage after the new airport name , YSR had to concede some room by naming the highway to PV, grudgingly though...

Long after the Nehru dynasty is consigned a brief note Narasimha Rao will be remembered for his stellar contribution to economic revival foreign policy initiatives and suppressing terrorism. There was an article in The Hindu which discussed all the alternatives explored by the Narasimha Rao govt. Then The Hindu was a face of the Congress then as it is a face of the Congress now. Mr. Rao wasn't given the credit due to him - (a) as his surname was different and (b) he wasn't loyal to the Gandhis and did what's best to India. Ardent and Chamcha Congress supporters should remember the way Mr. Rao was treated sespite he was the first Congress PM without the (in)famous surname. They will get similar treatment. MMS is getting credit because he obediently listened to the first family. Despite a minority govt. Mr. Rao brought-in changes in the economy, which MMS cudn't do when he was a (puppet) PM dor 10 years. History should be more kind to Mr. Rao!

He didn't need to run so many departments single-handedly, even tho he didn't earn his position democratically. PVN was the first accidental PM after Congress formed a coalition government with outside support Communists. With economy in dolldrums, everyone felt he was a scapegoat PM only with an intention that reelection within a year. What happened was history. PVN not only completed the term, he became an architect of new India, after almost 49 years of independence, he left a great legacy when he left office, which all Indians are indebted to him.
