Honesty, I personally feel INC did a huge mistake by ceding space to AAP. Congress post 2024 polls should atleast try to revive its party organisation in states like Delhi, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Rajasthan & Madhya Pradesh etc. where it enjoyed a sizable presence earlier. Give new faces a chance. Its OK if they don't form the government instantly but atleast will revive the party on ground. Party needs to change its thinking towards Development + Welfare. These free bus rides schemes or 1 Lakh per woman or Caste Census etc. might be good for optics but unsustainable in reality. People might choose you once for this but the moment they see INC not being able to fulfill their promises or it pinching them with increased inflation and taxes, they won't think twice before throwing you out. BJP has done really well to retain the states, not only because they had a face but also because they focused on having sustainable schemes and economic policy. Wherever BJP has lost it has mostly been because on Infighting. That being said the first step would be to have a good and reliable face at the top as President of State Unit. Task him with the responsibility of reviving the party in the state and if the party shows a good performance (be realistic about performance- not always about forming government), then reward him and he can reward his workers who have played a critical role in party's performance.

We should be cautious about poll strategist and their prediction, there are many exit polls that have failed....The west Bengal Election was one such example....No one really thought that Vajapyee BJP will go down and the congress although they got less was having comfortable number to form the alliance. Even I feel BJP will win and will get almost the same number, I also thought BJP was going to be very close in the West Bengal Election, Telangana exit polls said would be hung and Chhatisgargh Congress winning....all came out wromg.....
