So Buddha, Mahavir and Gandhi were cowards but a person taking a gun and killing people are brave? So in that way, we have many goons who are real hero and only 10 people in the history who took the path of peace, were cowards. Great.

Fascinating interview with Dr. Karan Singh. To me, i was delighted with the spark, sharpness & clarity with which he spoke ( at a ripe age of 93-94) and I envy our leaders from the independence period who have such a lovely stories to narrate. Wish him well for a long life.

Sirs,there has been a deep confusion in india about inclusivity. An example is the favorite public prayer of Gandhi ji. 'Ishwar Allah tere naam' This is fine with hindus. But,muslims at best can only be quiet about it. Reason: it violates the most important tenet,shahda,of islam. Hinduism is inclusive. Islam is expressly exclusive with Dar ul islam and Dar ul Harb, muslim vs kafir.These are the basis of Quran.
@defaulltmakeКүн бұрын
how is it so? No Muslims find any problem in that sentence.

Stop spreading your insecure lies. A minority in a democracy has very limited powers. Calling for a Hindu Rashtra in India is not same as calling for an Islamic rule in India just like calling for a Hindu rashtra in Bangladesh or Pakistan is not same as Islamic rule in Pakistan or Bangladesh. A huge majority of muslims in India know what they can get in a post-partition India. The negligible minority can be easily dealt with by the state.

@@devil1000ishWhat limited powers? Waqf board has unlimited powers to declare anybody's property as Waqf. Congress only brought that law in 1995. Yes, when Hindus got united, things start getting questioned. Like why do people following a particular Arabian god, get separate laws. Why Congress didn't implement Ambedkar's demand for Uniform Civil Code.

as usual lutyen media giving lectures on one community, while not even having courage to talk about even reform of property topics like waqf. this kind of advice has come value when they first bring common laws like civil code, common property rights etc.
@devil1000ishКүн бұрын
Uniform civil code is in the constitution. Several law commissions including one under the modi government had said ucc is neither desirable nor india is ready for it yet. Have you read it? Waqf bill is sent to JPC. Why don't you ask this question to Naidu and Nitish about why it could not be passed in parliament?
@nagbalkur1365Күн бұрын
@@devil1000ishquestion is why these so called experts did not pass uniform civil code or a proper waqf bill subject judiciary or even talk about it for last 60 plus years. Point is they are hypocrites and their sermon is only for one community

One of the best interviews anywhere. However, I have a bone to pick with Vir : - given your impartial journalistic background, why did you not in all fairness, ask him about why and what he felt about the valley demographics changing dramatically in the ‘80s and ‘90s ? We would have loved to hear Dr. Karan Singh’s wisdom on this issue. - secondly, given his longevity and good cheer ( may he live much longer ) , why not casually ask him what is the secret to his good health , cheer and longevity ? This too would have been interesting to many of us in the audience ! Cheers though on a good session !
