Karnataka model is really appreciable , India's first covid death was recorded in Bengaluru still they have done tremendous job. Assam I can give you a better idea. I flew from Bengaluru to Guwahati on Friday, got tested on arrival. Was sent to a decent hotel quarantine paid by the govt. Got discharged on Monday after testing negative on Monday. However, I will have to stay in home quarantine with entire family for 10 more days. Police have put out a notice aboutside my flat. My family can afford this but I don't think every family can. So they aren't targeting journalists selectively but it's still very strict. The numbers we believe are true even though it's really low and looks good.

It's not just Assam. In Mizoram you'll be Quarantined for 21 days. 14 days in Quarantine Centre and another week in House Quarantine. Not just that you can't leave the Quarantine centre until you are tested with RTPCR. We have just 2 RTPCR machine and if you are not tested in those 3 weeks you will have to stay in Quarantine until you are tested.

I live in Bangalore and I would give credit to the people as well. From 1st of March, I saw a noticeable reduction in traffic on the road and by 15th, it was almost as if Bangalore's population was 1/5th of its actual population. People stopped coming out of their homes and you could feel it when you are on the road as Bangalore is known for its traffic snarls. And then on 15th, Bangalore was put on Curfew and offices asked their emplyees to start working from home. It was a collective effort and its showing in the numbers.

Sir other reasons which Bengaluru has performed well is that a large part of its population consists of young techies who mostly live in ultra neuclear families or as flatmates/pg mates . This demography helped Karnataka. Also techies having the luxury of working from home most of them who came from abroad in the initial days kept themselves home quarrentined thus reducing the initial transmission rate.

Assam using same rule as it is used in Singapore. In Singapore as well they will test at airport on arrival if you tested negative you still have to stay at home quarantine for 14 days, they will track you as well for those 14 days

I would raise two things: - The print interviewed Telangana's health minister and the interview was pathetic... Did not push the minister with right research based info and also didn't push for stronger action. Secondly, it is wrongly stated in the media that no one is going to court on Telangana's dismal corona handling. The Telangana's high court has reprimanded the KCR govt twice for low testing numbers but it is still not affecting the dumb blindsided government

In kerala covid cases were showing after 23 days after they came from foreign during first stage. Assam is fearing that it can spread to the community, so isolate the persons for 14 journalist should not give special treatment all the person are having 14 days quarantine period. More people are interacting with journalist, so it should be taken care. There is press club in every dist. if you want to interview or get report ask them to get it done pay them. Don't send journalist to danger like this you team has got two cases of covid did you ask are they interested in going pandemic center or how many people they give virus. Every area have there own geography and demographics we are not US or China State govt. given right to do what is necessary control. ICMR can give guidelines state govt. can choose more strict or loose measure to control the pandemic. If you visiting state you have to obey state orders.

The print journalist is more concern about his journalist then the COVID. The cases in Assam is under control because of this pro activeness. There are two type of journalist exists in India, one type is Pro Modi and other one is anti Modi (Shekhar Gupta is one of them) If Assam didn't took any steps of quarantine for outsider people then the situation may become worst then Delhi. Some cases in Assam is being reported after the 14 day quarantine also. If they were not marked as quarantine for 14 days, situation may become worst. A case in Golaghat(Assam) is being reported that A woman came from Delhi and she was found COVID positive. After several days she found negative. Now again she become positive. As the medical science is not able to answer all the behaviour of this virus so quarantine is the only option. So Mr SG, don't try to put your nose in the matter of Assam.Do your biased journalism somewhere else.
