@Xye Leyx Do you think that you can claim part of Bhutan, or South China Sea or in case any territory that may be part of some dynasty in 1800. Then Tibet or Xinjinag or some parts doesn't belong to China. There should be a timeline where the claims should freeze.

@Xye Leyx Actually the Kailash Mansarovar area belonged to India, as our Lord Shiva came from there. And it was an Indian territory. So we should lay claims to that area. And don't bullshit me with the "age of expansion is over" line. I don't care. If Chinese can claim our sovereign area as their, then so can we.

one viable financial model for "The Print" could be that you guys open up a patreon account and take special questions from the members who subscribe to that in your "off the cuff" and other live sessions....i would definitely pay for it and considering how politically aware The Print aficionados are i am sure you would find a deluge of memberships. Seems like a lot more viable model than the trite and hackneyed monthly/yearly membership model and i am sure donations are not going to be sustainable as you scale up. This would definitely ensure a steady stream of cash flows and you guys definitely deserve to scale up and go mainstream.

@Xye Leyx enabler of expansionism? Bob? As far I understood tawang was -always with british india -south of the mcmohan line. Before Bob , Whole NEFA (arunachal) was ill administered. That's why somehow Tibet continued collecting taxes from region , he drove the tibetan tax collectors away and established the formal border Which then n till date was never challenged by china. (So Formal border Bob set which british n Tibetans probably in 1914 established only on papers) There must be 100 of such locations , ambiguous, even if both parties agree manmohan line.

Islamic rule is glorified by the N-G dynasty and the Left historians. It was convenient to glorify muslims and secure their(Congress party) vote banks and that’s how they ruled India for the majority of 65 years. That is ‘not all’ it’s just a small aspect of our history. It will be conflict of interest for Shekharji to cut this ‘Clutter’ India will become a global power when we realise this fact (our historical legacy of being a rich nation-both in terms of cultural/spiritual and economic power) and grow out of this mindset.

Surprised that Major Bob Kating is not that well known in India. Even more surprising that "The Print" under the stewardship of Mr. Sekhar Gupta decided to publish it. Major is a legend in Myanmar and Malaysia. Definitely Major Bob Khating was one the greatest soldier in Modern Times from North East. A great Naga, cast in the mould of Bhabhruvahan, the Naga son of Pandav Arjun, who had nonchalantly defeated his own illustrious Father. No task was too difficult for Major Khating. His planning and execution was superb. Kudos to the then Governor of Assam, who got this task done during and despite the reign of Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru as PM, Mountabatten as Governor General and British COAS General Francis Bucher...the trio would have definitely relished a "Kashmir" in the North East of India too. Mr. Gupta, being an ideologically bonded Nehruphile may not agree with my views. As a non-Indian Student and Admirer of India, I have the unfair advantage (vis-a-vis Mr. Gupta) of being a dispassionate and distanced observer of Indian Geo Politics. Whereas Pundit Nehru has done some great contribution toward building a modern India - multi party democracy, free election, IIT, ISRO BARC, SAIL, BHEL etc etc. His strong Socialistic Ideology constrained India's animal spirit, he kept Armed Forces weak and most importantly (unfortunately) created a false and defensive narrative of India, wherein the invaders were fawned upon and the Nationalists and traditional cultural ethos frowned upon. I find my Indian friends so defensive and apologetic of their own obvious strength. They often seem to know so little of the great inclusive traditions of Indian Culture, wherein all races, thoughts, philosophy and theology were welcomed. Infact most seem to think that acknowledging that they are Hindu is somehow a blot on Secularism. Pity...wake up India, we need more Borphukan and Bob Kating in these turbulent times. For with strength comes peace.

See here how Nehru was kept in the dark about Tawang brought into India :I hear Constantly hear about the activities of the North and North-East Border Defence Committee. These activities have resulted in action being taken on the Tibetan border and in Nepal. At no stage have these matters been brought up before me for consultation, although apparently, consultations have taken place with the Governor of Assam and other people far away. I am greatly concerned about this matter because, as I have already mentioned to you, the manner of our going to Tawang and taking possession of it and thus creating some international complications has not been a happy one. I am yet not quite clear how all this was done without any reference to me,” Nehru wrote. However, Arpi recounts that days before his untimely death, Sardar Patel, who was Home Minister, had issued an order to Jairamdas Daulatram and APO Khathing to conduct this operation without apparently taking Nehru into confidence. Patel did not want a repeat of the Kashmir situation. Nehru’s unhappiness, however, did not have any real consequences for Khathing’s career.

Dear Shekhar Ji, I have been religiously following your Cut the Clutter for quite some time. As a Tibetan refugee in India, through much of my experience in this wonderful country, I have noticed that hardly any Indian intellectuals are taking serious interest in the Tibet issue. Even you don't seem to care much about it, Tibet is at best a passing reference to you but not in the central discourse. I have the impression that the Government of India keeps Indians in the dark about Tibet issue for so long. As a result, even after 60 odd years of Tibetans refugees and its Govt of Exile in India, the general public hardly has a clear-headed idea of Tibet, the exile of the Tibetans, even about the presence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in the country. If a respected public intellectual like you don't cut the clutter about the issue of Tibet seriously, then what good hope does the nation hold for in knowing much about the Tibetan issue. After the recent Galwan incident, the whole nation seems to have been awakened by the importance of resolving Tibet's issue for India's own security interest but the public intellectuals and policymakers don't really seem to be on the same board. What's your opinion? Kindly do one Cut the Clutter episode on the issue of Tibet just to enlighten the Indian public and its relevance to India's national interest in the long run. Thank you. Xi is a monster just like mao. Deng was a statesman. China does not believe in sanctity of contracts. So speculating what could have been if agreement were reached with them is futile They would have just broken the deal. The biggest setback was letting go of Tibet by nehru long before 1962. After annexation of Tibet it was never a question of IF. It was merely a question of WHEN. the natural and millennia old buffer was squandered away due to the flights of fantasy of one man That is the tragedy
