US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti says, 'I know that India and I respect that India likes its strategic autonomy, but in times of conflict, there is no such thing as strategic autonomy. We will in crisis moments need to know each other. I don't care what title we put to it, but we will need to know that we are trusted friends, brothers and sisters, and colleagues in times of need.'

@@deccanheartmajority of global south is not with us malign hegemony not anymore as the world has witnessed , US bombsh while china builds, also one more thing India is not that land that maintains relationships with only USA or say only Russia or china it’s the land that want to befriend everybody in the world like vishwwamitra . This land knows : वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्, this land preaches लोकः समस्ताः सुखिनो भवन्तु and these dharmic values we hold are from time immemorial and that what makes us bharatiya so understanding these values will help us cement our friendship bond for ever . India needs strategic autonomy for the survival of mankind I know it’s a bold statement but it is what it is .

@@fenimorefillmore5322 Tell me 1 thing that India needs from Russia? Tell me 1 thing that you use - ‘Made In Russia’. Nothing! Russia is a ‘Fake’ and ‘Useless’ friend. Where Russia has been the most helpful to India is - Their vote in the UN. Take a look at Reality - Whenever there is an Indo-China issue, Russia has NEVER taken India’s side. It is the USA that has stopped China from encroaching Arunachal Pradesh. Indians have this blind love for the Rooskies. Moreover, the values we espouse are in direct contrast with Putin. Putin, is probably the Worst (and one of the most Destructive) Person on Earth. We can’t side with Democracy based countries while also supporting Authoritarian regimes. We need to step up and support Countries that are like minded as ours

Nonsense. India's _relationship_ with Russia is far older, far more strategic, fair more intrinsic than purveyors of modern international political expediency will have you believe. Russia has been India's friend through thick-and-thin. India owes Russia the same. Putin may lead Russia, but Putin is not Russia. India must stand-by Russia as it goes through its crisis.

@@deccanheart India helped US fight off the millennium bug. What cynical calculation did India have at that time. Look without India, this would be a bipolar world.
