@kassistwisted

In Dutch, the word reckoning means the bill, the thing you pay at the restaurant. If those people believe in a reckoning, then PAY THE BILL! If we're not going to actually pay the bill to Black Americans, we must change the system so it's not racist at its core: the police, the justice system, the benefits system, the banking system... That will benefit ALL Americans: Black, White, Hispanic, Asian. The poor will be lifted up and the rich will see crime decline. Pay the bill! Make a country for all Americans.

@@AaronKinney-sd9rk There are three things that I do. The first was advice from the president of Stanford University when he addressed us at freshman orientation. He urged us to “Question authority”. The next two are to “Follow the money” and ask “Qui bono?” (Who benefits?). Then you will slowly figure out how the world works. If you want to figure out how the Multiverse works then first ask it, and then watch for the clues. Earth experience is a journey. If I simply tell you the answers then you won’t learn as much. But a hint is that the same money control both “sides” of these polarities and particularly the narrative of the media. So we must ask then “Who benefits from this distraction and social engineering of the thoughts and minds of humanity?”. The superficial answer would be that those who abuse power benefit, but from a more complex metaphysical standpoint all of the souls in this game which we could call “The Human Earth Experience”(or some just prefer “The Matrix”) we will eventually come to learn that the collective consciousness of the Multiverse benefitted from this profound learning experience. And since we are all connected energetically you can indeed read my mind. You’ve just had your memory wiped for the “game”. It makes it more interesting and challenging.

Think about having to go all the way back to 1619 to claim grievances for blacks. He completely ignores everything by omitting the other side of the argument. He isn't making a comparison here, he is just using snippets of race baiting blacks as a way to provide evidence without actually showing you the legitimacy of their complaints. Go look up rapes by race. You will find some very interesting things. Like the fact that white women on an average year (that is reported) is something like 10-20k rapes from black men. @99Steve
@99Steve 2 жыл бұрын
This is a very important distinction that you've made that I've encountered as well. These people will claim that they just "want to have a conversation" about race. But conversations, by their very nature, are talks between two or more people in which ideas are exchanged. You can't claim to want to just have a conversation in one breath and then tell white people that they need to "shut up and listen" in the next breath. Like you said, that's a monologue or a lecture, not a conversation. These people often use a "kafkatrap" or "double bind" psychological trap in their arguments. If you don't accept their basic premises and attempt to dispute them, that's an example of "white fragility". If you do accept them, then you're admitting to being a racist. No matter how you respond, you will lose under this framework regardless of the validity of your argument. This is an example of circular reasoning, and it's a logical fallacy. They've already created their conclusion, and they're just looking for cherry picked "evidence" that will support their hypothesis. Anyway, even if you did have a heartfelt and genuine "conversation" about race, it doesn't mean that you're going to agree at the end of the discussion or debate. It just means that you agreed to listen to what they had to say. You can listen to someone's argument, and still disagree as much as you did at the beginning of the talk.

Because those people don't want to "talk about it". They just want to pretend racism is long gone. "We need to talk about it" doesn't mean more white people should speak out about how they don't believe in systemic racism (against black people). It means we need to talk about THE ACTUAL REALITY OF THE STATE OF RACIAL DISPARITY.

My sympathies. I worked with anti-racist groups in the 90's and it was a real struggle to get them to acknowledge that racism was more than a black/white issue. Don't even bother to suggest racism from an ethnic group because, you know, 'minorities can't be racist'. I'm not sure anyone has the answer, but it's harder to hate a group if you don't some of them personally. The problem with integration is a loss of culture and a preference of groups to not want to mix.

I was maybe 5, and didn't really understand. But now I understand why, on my birth certificate, my mom checked "Caucasian." Mom grew up in the deep south, where "Indians" were persecuted racially too, and as light skinned people who passed for white, it was easier just to tell people you were "white" and hide your native ancestry.

Whats wild is that these clips don’t discuss how the government used very effective tactics to ensure fatherless homes were created, that black communities were flooded with *hard drugs, and how ghettos became how they were. It’s saddening how people will intentionally remain uneducated to preserve their comfort and the fantasy that their hard work as a white person who grew up poor is good enough reason to believe that “the American dream of just working hard works for everyone”. What they fail to see is that poverty isn’t just the only reason a lot of blacks are struggling and that a few token blacks can’t be used as an example for how blacks just “aren’t working hard enough” or are being victims”. But that black folks poverty is a direct result of the government implementing laws that they knew would lead to poverty, fatherless homes and early death for black folks. The government knows that and I don’t know why we act so surprised that black peoples distrust a government that allowed the burning down of successful black communities with no restoration provided, intentionally poisoning black men, intentionally separating black men from families etc. is so prevalent. We are not gunna be excited about a country unwilling to recognize and resolve its own faults for real!

I can chart my racial experience in America through various segments of my life. Childhood, bussed to the suburbs for grade school when I heard that "n" word called to me for the first time, telling me to go back to where I came from. In high school, I was chased down by angry white kids calling me the "n" word, on a busy suburban highway street, on a Sunday Morning because I wanted to attend an open house at a High School that was 100 times better than one in my area. In my twenties, after taking an exam for trade school entry, The tester told me they were surprised by my high score because of my appearance. In my thirties, being pulled over by five police cars in a white town because they were told someone suspicious was driving around, even though I lived just a block away. These are just scratching the surface of many incidents that repeatedly happen over the many decades of my life. How I survived and still achieved some success is a mystery. It's easy to say, Yes, I am black, a devoted father, and successful, but what's not told? It is about the thousands who did not make it and experienced the same trauma as me.

Yes and no. it's a terrible goal, and an insane one on an individual measurement. If you think equal outcomes are a thing, you must spend a lot of time and effort making sure to never think about someone with severe disabilities. I would say "No matter how much affirmative action, Fred can never become president", but you wouldn't know who Fred is because he isn't socially important, whereas Barrack and DonaldJ are. That's where the left goes wrong. Empathetic on the surface, but there's no substance beneath it. The right, however, misses the obvious. If we seek equality of opportunity, and if we acknowledge that there are no significant inherent differences between the groups (true for race, not for sex), then the combination would result in - on average - equal outcomes. If the coin goes heads 990 out of 1000 times, it's probably not a fair coinflip. Though that doesn't tell you whether the coin is rigged, or the table, or the method, or there's another trick. Likewise you can't tell by outcomes alone what causes it: racism, or cultural differences, or generational residue, or effects of clustering and locality, or...many things. But you can tell that - unless there's a big difference between the races - there must be a difference in their opportunity. Be it external (harder to get a good job) or internal (e.g. grew up in a bad neighborhood and got into a gang before being old enough to decide whether to drink). That's where the right goes wrong. Seeing the dirty bathwater, understanding it's dirty, but flushing down the baby as well.

Yeah, I get that tone-policing shit in place of an actual argument a lot. "I'm sorry you're so angry." Not angry, just not buyin' it. "Who hurt you?" Well, this conversation is pretty painful. "You seem upset." Do I seem wrong? Because you're still not saying anything about that. Pure projection from people who argue almost entirely from emotions, "When oh when, Lord, will we finally do something about herpadee derpa doo?" and then when someone questions their conclusions, make some flip-ass remark about them getting hot under the collar, bag a few yuks from the crowd and provide a clip for the idiot BreadTubers who'll make videos about how the questioner got DESTROYED!!!! Remember that 'mean mad white man' comment that clown Michael Dyson (never has there been a more appropriate name for a man who sucks so hard) tossed at Jordan Peterson, a Canadian who barely ever even raises his voice? That. For two hours. He clowned it up in front of that audience and seemed to think he'd won the argument because he got the most laughs. Not how it works, Mike. You have to actually _say_ something.

@@gary7181 Hey, remember when Jon Stewart raged at Jack Posobiec over the Veterans Burn Pit Bill that Republicans objected to... without mentioning it was a Trojan Horse bill the Democrats were trying to hide a multimillion dollar spending spree inside? Yeah, he 'seemed upset' there too. Incidentally, the disingenuous little weasel made a habit of that all throughout the Daily Show, lambasting Republicans for voting against the Widows, Orphans and Puppies Act without even coming _close_ to questioning what the fuck kind of nonsense the Democrats may have been trying to tack onto it. God, I hate this prick. He is a sacred cow that should've been made into burgers years ago.

Funding differences is a lie - the Federal Government subsidizes low income schools, so funding comes out pretty much even by race. Teachers unions love this lie so they can ask for more money that goes into enriching the millionaire union bosses and has no impact on the students. So what makes a good school? Good parents produce good kids, who enable teachers to actually teach vs act as glorified babysitters with high burn out rates. Those good kids grow up to be good parents. Be honest: If you had a choice of sending your kid to an all Asian school, a rural white school, or an all black school - funding equal, facilities equal, the only difference is you’re stuck with the typical kids, what school would foster a safer, healthier, more encouraging learning environment? I guarantee the vast majority would say Asian: Most kids live in stable, 2 parent house holds that produce stable, socially adjusted kids. Culturally, the average Asian parent cares more about education, discipline and teaching those values to their kids. Your kid would be more surrounded by kids striving to achieve. You’d know your kid would be safer from violence and drugs too. The black community (very similar to white rural communities) if honest, knows they are failing their kids. 70% are born out of wedlock. They live in single parent house holds, so the mom is barely around to parent, and the dad is no where to be found. That’s why so many end up in gangs, jail, drop out of school, poverty, and then have their own kids out of wedlock that end up the same. Its because kids aren’t capable of raising themselves, neither are teachers, only parents can do it. The good news is it’s choice, not racism, that determines who you marry and if you work to stay together. No one is stuck and everyone is free to make their own household decisions. School choice is the last piece of freedom that’s missing - which makes sending your kid to that good school with like minded values possible no matter what your economic situation.

In the mean time, people coming here from Africa are doing as good if not better than white people, in the same system. The average income of someone FROM UGANDA is on average about -$600 a year of the average white family. This along with 100% of ALL other information that goes against liberal racist views, is left out. The GOP cant win elections if they dont have brown and black people to scape goat. At that point poor white folk might start looking at things and realize that the people who fucked over poor black and brown (could get rid of the poor there, but i digress) are the ones who fucked them over. The Sackler settlement was a fucking disgrace. That family should be stripped of all their wealth. The settlement is structured in such a way that the Sackler family will pay less than they make on their investments during course of payment. So they will be richer on the other side anyway. If the Sackler family were black they would have been in prison for life. We have different rules for the rich and the rest of us.
