We have made this choice in 93. I make the money, she spends it. My wife handles the finances and I get a little fun money, 10.00 a week maybe. We have two cars and a pickup. Bought our home on VA loan in 97 for 90,000. It's paid for and we have a water front cottage on a lake in Northern Michigan. I have a pontoon boat. Two sons in their 20s , still at home. I work as a Critical Care Nurse and a Nay Reservest for 30 years. I plan on semi-retirering this fall. We made choices and we did well. The only fall back is my wife misses social ilnteraction. Volunteer work helps. My oldest is high funtioning autistic, it worked for us. However, I have mechanical skills and I can do home repairs saving us thousands. I have one wife, no girl friend, no sports car. I am happy and I asked my wife just now and she says she is. I am a Registered Republican however, I am voting Democrat this year, had to put that in.

But’s it’s not that we’re “Just Jealous” of “lucky” housewife influencers!! MOST OF THESE CHANNELS PROMOTE THE IDEOLOGY THAT “Women are not meant to work outside the Home, They are meant to cook, clean, and raise children only WOMEN”. These tradwife channels are mostly mormon or conservative or evangelical and openly promote the “Trad Lifestyle” where Men are NOT meant to ever cook, clean, raise kids but make a successful career and manage. the finances. The patriarchal political message is there on most Trad Wife channels. They are openly saying “All Women will find that ONLY being a Mother who stays at home cooks, cleans, and raises the kids is the ONLY. AND BEST PATH TO HAPPINESS. And shaming women who make a career. And openly pushing the idea that “A Woman Should Sumit to Her Husband”. That ALL WOMEN’s place is in the kitchen. Just go on any Trad Wife Forum to see messages shaming women who make professional careers.

Nope because it's nonsense impractical distraction. The same people pushing "TradWife" are hurting the middle class with a wide range of policies. Energy Poverty reliance on finite resources, corporate housing ownership, heavy car and city traffic reliance, fighting worker compensation bargaining. The end goal is realy to degrade the middle class and create a large desperate workforce willing to work for little pay. "TradWife" is just cultural superiority distraction. Most people don't have the luxury to work less, everyone should be working LESS.

Nobody is saying it isn’t. Dressing up in colonial clothes and pretending that being a domestic worker for your husband is fulfilling is weird and isn’t a realistic depiction of what it means to be a homemaker.
