Zotac GeForce RTX 4080 16GB AMP Extreme AIRO review and tests with 49-inch monitor

Hello, this is the Provoked Prawn and this is a video on the Zotac GeForce RTX 4080 16GB AMP Extreme AIRO graphics card. I've been using this card for a couple of weeks, editing and rendering videos, streaming and capturing gameplay footage and playing on my Samsung Ultrawide gaming monitor.

I figure using my monitor results in some interesting benchmarks for this GPU due to its specs which include:
- QLED Quantum Dot screen technology
- 1000R curve
- HDR1000 and HDR10+
- 5,120 x 1,440 resolution, 1ms response time, 240Hz refresh rate
- G-Sync compatible
- Picture-by-picture mode

I have the 'ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 4080 16GB Trinity OC GDDR6X 256-bit 22.4 Gbps PCIE 4.0' and compared your specs to mine. Not much difference and in the same price range. Do you know of any good / bad between the two cards. Nice build. Mine is in a Hyte Y60, Black.

They are all very much the same cards, temps might be a little different and aesthetics but thats all it is tbh

Difference is the stock speeds ( the AMP edition is made of better binned chips that support a factory overclock ) and slightly more RGB features. That is all the differences.

I HATE how much taller the 4xxx cards are. Like the extra height past the mounting bracket towards the side panel. Like.. I have an ROG Strix OC 3080 which is already a beefy card.. and if I was going to go 4080.. I'd have to get a new case.. I'm using an OG O11D

Lian Li H11 DYNAMIC EVO same as in this video, plenty of space amazing airflow and the Dynamic means you can completely flip the case if you want and it's modular comes with anti sag brackets. I got one for my Zotac amp extreme 4070ti and love it.

i always have a feeling that FOV is somewhat screwed on those ultrawide screens. Image is moving so quickly on far sides of the monitor, like looking with a fisheye lens. It this something noticeable or not really? Or eyes just adapt to this?

That's exactly the reason the far sides are stretched. Because your eyes focus mainly on the center, so the sides act like your peripheral vision so you don't notice the stretch and it's a more immersive experience. Personally that's what I see in my G9. Even if you look a bit sideways in a fast paced game I don't believe you'll notice it either.

I bought the airo version of the ZOTAC 4090 and all was fine until I installed firestorm which seemingly permanently ruined the RGB with the whole card flashing red three times every 30 seconds in performance mode and blue in quiet mode. Had to rma it, if you get one don’t install firestorm.

@@ProBroOfficial trust me so am I…. It’s almost like it changed the firmware on the card, I uninstalled, reseated the card, drained all power from psu etc and despite removing all software and leaving everything default the issue remained. Software shouldn’t affect hardware once removed but it did… and others are reporting similar with 30 series, prior to installing firestorm everything was fine….
