Dude seems so focused on understanding on how to get a woman to like him.

Maybe I am missing something but I didn't get that impression at all. How is that coming up for you?

Around the 35 minute mark I started wondering if there was an evolutionary advantage for female sexual attraction to be connected to morbid curiosity, since there might be a survival advantage to having a developmental stage that involves a morbid desire/curiosity (which is built into the fabric of their basic sexual desire in itself) to learn the intricacies of how potential future male mates might behave in injurious ways (since there has presumably been an unequal power advantage over females throughout human evolution). Then they shouted out evo-psy, and tied morbid curiosity to Resilience, and maybe that was my answer. I don't know. I'm going out on a limb, here.

I agree here! As someone who experienced domestic violence in my younger adult life, I can remember learning his body movements that cued he was going to strike. I learnt alot about mental strategy related also. Great observation ❤

I sensed an implication that the "attraction to the bad-boy" phenomenon is not mirrored by a commensurate statistical trend of men being attracted to "bad girls." Is my inference correct? Do women typically require higher levels of physical arousal (like a mild fear response to a bad boy) to cross the threshold into sexual attraction? Why do I assume there's more research pointed at female attraction? And if there is, is it related to the aphorism that women are more mysterious? Looking forward to the Why Do Nice Guys Finish Last solo episode!

I love true cr*me and I can look at gr*phic pics of a cr*me scene and not be bothered. I can also watch h*rror movies and not have an issue afterward. But I cannot watch people or animals being t*rtured or k*lled. It sickens me and I think about it and see it in my mind for days. I can listen to a true cr*me story, but it bothers me if I hear the details of how a person was t*rtured before they died. I cannot listen to anything involving the t*rture of animals, but I also know there's a circle of life where animals eat each other to stay alive. I think it's the s*ffering of the animal or human that bothers me. When I watch a h*rror movie, I know it's acting, and no one gets hurt. I like true cr*me because I want to understand why someone would do that.

Off-topic but I have a feeling, Scott, that you could do a very good impression of Donald Trump!

This was one of the most helpful and interesting episodes of The Psychology Podcast I've ever seen (and I've seen a lot haha). It has sparked many conversations with others. Thank you again, Scott!
