Couldn’t be any clearer than this… what do we do if we are terrified of what might happen on almost a daily basis? Work environments and the kind of life we live nowadays makes us anxious non stop..many people around in crowded workplaces are anxious to some degree and we humans are like sponges.

Thanks for this video! It's important to not over-pathologize ourselves. So many factors (depression, anxiety, stress) are just regular parts of life, and don't necessarily meet the qualifications for a disorder. That distinction can be confusing for a lot of folks, but especially young people who see lists of symptoms on TikTok and start self-diagnosing. That's why it's always a good rule of thumb to follow-up with an actual mental health professional beyond just self-diagnosing, just to make sure you aren't barking up the wrong tree. That being said - I love videos like these because they help people get educated long before they step into a therapist's office!

Ive had anxiety for about a year now with panic attacks and everything. Never got diagnosed nor seen therapist. Ive kinda done what is called exposure therapy and its really improved my quality of life. I still get anxiety but id like to consult a therapist in hopes in improving it more.

I wasn't always this anxious. It got intensified during lock down :/
@flymypg
@flymypg Жыл бұрын
He's BAAAAAaaaaack! As society reopened from COVID lockdowns, a large part of me has stayed locked-down, primarily due to social anxiety. I had become very used to being with myself, with minimal in-person interaction, with most work interactions being over Zoom. I found I liked living that way! Unfortunately, many things I enjoyed pre-COVID have not yet returned for me, despite repeated attempts. In particular, I feel very unmoored, confused and detached when I'm with more than three people. I'm no longer able to pay adequate attention when in a group of just 4 others, unable to focus on the individuals around me. It is exhausting trying to persevere in that environment, so I often excuse myself. I can easily be in public gatherings, so long as I don't have to interact with too many folks. It's like I now have "social battery" that runs down very quickly and can't start recharging until I get time away for myself. Though I've never been socially gregarious, when I was younger I did get on well in larger groups, such as team sports and with my shipmates in the US Navy. But not anymore! I am developing coping mechanisms. Such as ensuring I have a role to perform in social situations, such as bartending or cooking or cleaning or tending the bonfire. And by having a list of "duck out" excuses, such as going to the restroom or responding to a fake text. While I'd much rather be able to comfortably exist without these crutches, I'll take what I can get.

Good to see you again Bob! My next 3 long videos are on anxiety and 2 are on social anxiety. I’ll be sure to address the type of experience you’re talking about though it sounds like you’re already on the right track. You’ve identified the emotions involved, find ways to be in the situations you want to be in, and have a plan to cope if things get difficult 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

I'd start your journey with the psychology crash course: thecrashcourse.com/courses/psychology You can also check out my favorite psychology books here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eX-XgoiAlqemfLM Other websites to consider: www.scientificamerican.com/mind/ www.apa.org/ www.psychologicalscience.org/news www.nimh.nih.gov/news/index.shtml For podcasts check out: www.npr.org/series/423302056/hidden-brain And if you're interested in majoring in psychology: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWOmlZirfJaGiqc kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2q9d2pupJqCiKc You can also take a psych course at a community college is that’s an option. The best thing to do as you’re learning this info is to find ways to apply it to your life. That’ll really help it stick: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYjCpJ6cptiHapI And here’s some advice for high school students I made awhile back: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kGiqo6CsetWHfdU Good luck!

i’ve struggled with anxiety my whole life. although for the past few months it has gotten in the way of living, just like you described. i don’t know how to reach out for help or even mention it to people (such as my parents) that i think i may have a anxiety disorder. my family is aware that i struggle with anxiety, especially my mom who has struggled with it as well. my mom has been there for me when anxiety has gotten in my way of living and she’s very understanding but she’s never mentioned how i may have a anxiety disorder. this has started to effect me in a way, being confused and all. would you happen to have any advice? that would be great, thank you.
