I don't know if you saw it or someone pointed it out to you (I saw no one mention it), but when Safi asks about "the blue-haired girl," there is a little blue moon in the center of our choices, that would indicate in which universe we are. Since it's the past tense, in this universe, we probably have sacrificed Chloe, and if we were to have that discussion again, but in the parallel universe, we would have sacrificed Arcadia Bay. It depends on which picture Max looks at and whether it's a Polaroid or not! Anyway, it's just my thought!

Wait, people were really speculating that the girl in the blue hat was Rachel? Rachel, the girl who's definitely deader than a doornail in *every possible outcome of the original game?* I have trouble believing even Max's life is gonna be _that_ strange...

I didn't think it was Rachel, but Max has the powers to go between timelines. In the life is strange, Max ends up in a time line where Chloe and Rachel actually left Arcadia Bay together. So is it possible sure. It's just not likely given that Rachel wanted to be famous and you're currently a teacher in Vermont.

Personally, I’m very excited for this game, I do see the concerns people have with Max returning about it being pandering but I feel it’s unfair that as a fanbase we ask for Max back and then they give us what we want and we say it’s done in bad faith. Of course multiple things can be true at once, it could be them giving us what we want while also realizing the strength of Max returning for their profit but at the same time it IS a business and they could totally not have given us Max at all so I’m taking what I can get. In regards to Chloe, I feel like we will not get any concrete answer on her return until the game drops, if she’s in the game she’s definitely a surprise, Rhianna Devries a year or 2 ago posted a pic of herself on her IG story saying “I’m back home” in other words while it’s her in a voice acting recording booth, which is different from her doing the mo-cap for the remastered collection. Of course that could be an entirely different project but it’s something I hold onto, if Chloe isn’t back I’d definitely be sad but I won’t hate the game for that reason by any means, if she isn’t back I want to give this game a chance on the story it wants to tell(e). With the collector’s edition I do think it’s scummy to not include the game but I feel that the price of it being lower than most collectors editions is to compensate, if it was 70-120 bucks without the game it’d be ridiculous of course but I feel it being 50 bucks, it’s more like a loot box of goodies and with you buying the game seperately it turns into the price of what an included-game collector pack would be. The different editions seem to be a Square Enix thing rather than a Deck Nine thing, someone on reddit who successfully leaked aspects of this game said that the cat content was part of the game but also that square enix had asked them to consider “microtransactions” for Max to decorate her apartment and Deck Nine refused, so their equal footing would be to seperate the cat content into a new edition, outfits, and unfortunately early access. All in all though, I’m very excited for this game and can’t wait to see how everything plays out!

i mean, they also made a comic way before this game with rachel and chloe so for pandering, i feel like that’s kind of disproven because of the existence of this comics. It’s simply a continuation of them

@@Quartermaster1463 could be possible that its another multiverse situation like the comics... i hate multiverses, but its likely if both endings are considered canon. my main issue is: who is max prime? what story has meaning to us as the player? what does that mean about the games after? are all the other life is strange games part of a multiverse kerfuffle? String theory is annoying. i wish we can have a game that bring everything together were We have the closure that has been needed. I'm buying collector edition for sure, but I'm just hoping for a satisfying experience in the end.

I am personally on team Rachel Amber. She is largely misunderstood. I am such a fan that I even got a star tattoo on my left wrist like Rachel Amber has, as a tribute to her character

Naw. Rachel was another sort of truama. She's a foil to chloe. Chloe who had no father, who was poor, who was actively targeted as trouble. To Rachel, who was rich, who had a father and mother, who had everything, but like chloe wanted out. Chloe, who wanted out because she had nothing for herself, and l believed she deserves out because she was better than that small town. That is that. I fell for Rachel, too, in BTS, but I remember what she did in LiS. With frank, with Nathan, with Mark. She grabbed and took. In a way it was survival. But to be honest, she would've been fine without doing anything with these men, without chloe. She had money. She had comfort, and she had family. Rachel is a story of taking advantage and correlating with bad people. It started with chloe, it moved to frank, moved to the vortex club (Nathan), and led to Mark. She was self-destructive like her mother. She was trying to piss of her father, and chloe was grieving hers.

The leak posted two years ago about DE, where someone spoke with a game tester who had played DE, said a lot of confirmed info. He also says that the first half of the game was incredible when the other half was bad. Of course, they just can only fix the final half of the game after that but this explains this strategy of giving two weeks of early access to the most expensive version of the game to create more hype and make people buy the game in these two weeks for playing the first two episodes of the game, and when the full game are released everybody was already played the minimum time on the platforms and won't be able to just refund the game 😂

my biggest issue is the writer's said no matter what happens saffi is still dead in one of the universe I just hope you can alter realities strong enough to be sufficient to the player and the game story. Like as it is in Life is strange 1 & 2

Literally what are these people on, like how can you not need to play the original game about Max to play the new game about Max at the same time they're totally respecting and considering your choices of the original game????? I'm cautiously optimistic I'm glad to see Max coming back I love her so it's good to see her again. They just better do my girl Chloe right because I didn't destroy a town for nothing, my girls just better be gay married by this point and I'll ignore if everything else is mid.

I just want to play the game, I like all LIS except LIS2 which I don’t want to play. I am very excited for Max she is my favourite of all the characters and I cannot wait to play her again. I will judge it after, it is much too soon and they aren’t going to spoil their big plot points and surprises before the game comes out 😊.

She does look and sound similar to Rachel. Plus with the introduction of Max being able to travel to parallel timelines, there is a very, VERY slim possibility it could be. A lot of people love Rachel, let us be delusional ;) She might not bring anything to this new story, but I'd imagine they'll touch on Max's past at Blackwell, Rachel's disappearance will no doubt be mentioned.

I'm loving all your LiS coverage. And I just discovered that you've started a BtS playthrough. I'll have to check that out. I was actually going to recommend that you do a LiS playthrough if you didn't have one on your channel already. I've never watched one by someone that's already gone through the game and knows it well. That might have a lot to offer. Here's my big question? Bae or Bay?

I know this is a closed topic because there's no point in regretting the past, but I've always blamed the fact that there are only 3 episodes in Before the Storm for the "compression" of the plot. I believe that if they had completed the 5 episodes, they would have had more time and calm to develop the plot without rushing and, as a bonus, we would have had a better opportunity to get to know Rachel Amber. I would even say that I thought the story could be much better compared to what was presented if we had access to the normal number of chapters. Additional content could cover more of the Chloe x Rachel dynamic. Unfortunately, I believe the quality and "depth" of the game suffered because of this.

I know they said her names Loretta and the voice actor came forward but… either they made her deliberately look EXACTLY like Rachel to drive buzz online which would be smart, or they’re misleading us and that IS rachel. I’m not saying she’s alive- but she could be in the game as a spirit or maybe there’s a chapter where max gets to go to another timeline besides the 2 the game focuses on and sees Rachel and or chloe! I personally think that wouldn’t be too far of a stretch.

To me, its a bit concerning because Square Enix seems to take a complete capitalist outlook with the LiS games since DeckNine's involvement. I feel a bit spiteful, as an artist myself, seeing how DontNod's creative intent was undermined + how they were ousted from their own series in favor of a developer that was more willing to bend to call for cash grab installments. I've played all of the LiS games, giving DeckNine a chance and so far I feel they haven't really grasped the essence of what makes a LiS game so hard hitting and good. Or like they get half way there with each but they never really make it. While LiS 2 wasn't exactly my favorite of all the games I appreciated that DontNod wasn't the type to give in to fan pressure or give fanservice (since at the time I especially remember a lot of the hate for it was because they didnt have max or chloe). They intended to make an anthology and they stuck to their vision. But it just really rubs me the wrong way how SE went over them and got DeckNine to do it since Dont Nod wasn't willing to. :/ True Colors was definitely not my favorite and was more concerning to me because it felt like a huge retread of LiS1 - just with all the characters softened up and everyone was generally "nice" apart from the villain who could also be somewhat redeemed. haha I feel like there were more mean characters in LiS1 And to add to my concerns, having this huge push of marketing with Max making a comeback seems awfully suspicious now that DontNod is making a game that is being referred to as a "spiritual successor" to LiS. Not to mention how the remasters of LiS1 were handled, and now with the way the editions for this new game are coming out, Im honestly not holding my breath for anything spectacular. I HOPE they prove me wrong but I am not expecting them to.

Well that's crazy they had to charged us for twice a price for collector edition and the game itself. That's some capitalist mindset they ever made. Well that doesn't matter because it's not available in Australia and Asia region so I had to watch the unboxing video from you I'll guess 😂. The worst of all that they made 2 weeks earlier for 2 episode when you pre-ordered Ultimate Edition and it's quite odd, I'll guess that's another marketing move. Tbh, this one is way better than TC in any way because there's more episode. I'll regret buying TC till today since it is not a good LiS series ever, I love the LiS 2 more than that game. Anyways I really like your new editing style Sparxxyy it ok not to overwhelm with effect and sound. This is huge improvement nice job. I wish you get 1k subs soon too.

i didn't get the ultimate edition because i was worried about spoilers i got it because i've been waiting for a video game max sequel since i first finished the original Life Is Strange so when i heard the ultimate edition came with 2 weeks early access of course i was gonna get it in order to get my hands on the story of Double Exposure as soon as possible even if it's only the first two chapters (and by the way its not the youtuber's fault or the Deck Nine's fault if someone can't stop themselves from clicking a video or a link) i myself plan to stream the first two chapters when i get my early access if streaming them is an option that is........my advice to people who are concerned about spoilers is just don't click on anything about Double Exposure until you have played it all the way through yourself (its that simple! thats how i avoided spoilers for True Colors)

This is true. However I find on social media, a lot of people tend to openly discuss games/shows/movie plots without even adding spoiler warnings and that's how people accidentally get things spoiled for them. It's going to be very difficult for those people who won't have early access to dodge social media and spoilers + articles about the game for those first two weeks.

Hello, I'm new! :D As someone who loves all four Life is Strange games, raising concerns about the next one is very, very valid! I’m overall pretty excited for it, since I want to give the devs the benefit of the doubt - and also because the things we’ve seen so far seem pretty cool to me :) I’m not even that concerned about Chloe, because NOT including her for Baers would be such a bad move that I can’t imagine them doing it. It’s 100% a marketing tool, to raise discussion about the game. There IS something concerning, though: the editions and their price. Charging extra money to avoid spoilers is VERY scummy, especially because after those two weeks, the Ultimate Edition will be worth MUCH less. The fact that the Collector’s Box doesn’t even come with the game also reeks of capitalism :-/ I do see two potential ways to “excuse” the high price - either the game is as long as the first or the second Life is Strange game (or even longer?), or the game will be as short as Deck Nine’s games, but will be highly replayable because of the two timelines (which could potentially be seen as two games in one, depending on how they are handled). So yeah, I really hope Deck Nine won’t disappoint us!

Weirdly i think i may appreciate the early access because of the spoilers. As in, if they don't reveal what the heck is going on with Chloe, than I'm checking out the spoilers so i call finally decide if i want to buy the game or not

Also.. I sacrifice Chloe. And I like that she’s dead! I don’t mean that in a bad way, but I really like how the story goes full circle and she chose to sacrifice herself to save her mom and comes back as a butterfly. I thought it was a very bittersweet ending but a nice one. So while I do think it is important that Chloe is present/explained if you saved her, I think it’s also important that she’s dead for those who chose that. I think she might be alive in one of the timelines though and that will be fine 😂. They just need to make it make sense for everyone haha.

This is such a dumb take. Oh i like it that one ending doesnt matter in a new game and they shit on half of the players because why not. Going against the spirit of the other Ending, imagine its the other way, oh its so good that arcadia bay and everyone there is dead. Like this is so dumb Dude

Max seems to have a type; she is still fixated on bad girls like Safi, it was random and strange that she could kiss to others in game, that almost are like side characters with no plot to them at all thought out the game. I also noticed that she feels more like a college student than a teacher and looks more like one if it was not for those forehead Rinkles on max, she seems like kid maybe college level smart but not grow up like a teacher personality was not there, it feels like they just hired her because of the photo skills maybe since it didn't feel like she could grade or write papers on her own, I mean they even gave her a dark room for her photo's I think if anything she was just a photo teacher but nothing more than that skill wise, I didn't feel like double exposure did their plot great in that aspect of it. but around the college campus what I found neither interesting nor funny was the tablet with the audio recording jokes. In the game, they included poor-quality poop jokes around the area where you get the hot cocoa. I did not buy any of the addons for this game. It is just left with no one around it, which feels odd. It is strange that Amanda would have left her tablet in that area without any explanation. The game does not provide any context for presence. It as if they are saying, "Here, Max, listen to audio recordings of us talking about poop in bathrooms and clogging the sinks with poop then she goes on in audio to talk about that a few different recordings were left in the game around that area." They made really bad poop jokes and included them in the disc version. I assume it is also in the digital version, but I received the double exposure disc version of the game for Christmas. It not something you would want your parents to hear while you are playing "Life is Strange" in your bedroom with your soundbar 5.1 device. I think the jokes are for a few people that find that stuff funny, I sorry but I did not find it funny, to even listen too when it started to get very weird or strange I just moved max away from the playback device in game. it might have been connected to when max talks to Amanda in bar, about having to use bathroom if it was a number 1 or 5 level bathroom need, maybe but still strange that she would of just left it there, I don't remember if audio recording was in alive world or dead world in game. I don't even know if I used my Bluetooth ear pods, if I wanted to listen to the full recordings, sometimes in games audio recordings are fine, but I didn't feel the need or want to listen. are poop jokes by girls considered woke or not, in any case, it was just bad. I don't mind the different bathroom signs, but really why did they include those bad poop jokes in the game, I only could listen to it until it got very bad, with their words, I would rather play a new game with whatever Choe is doing, also they could have provided a better picture of her or rendering of her, if you're playing, she lived plot in this game. I think Safi is the new Choe, yes, max replaced one bad girl for another one. talk about bad habits. the fact that max could date and kiss both the guy and girl and both of them from different worlds would get mad at her over it, but really, doesn't max have morels about doing stuff like that but the game lets you go there anyway, is that a woke thing? It bothers me that they felt the need to give Max forehead wrinkles in her skin. Why did they do that? Yes, some of the game's choices felt pointless. Don't girls use skincare products for issues like that? Why did they give her such dry skin problems in double exposure? I think she got tired of Chloe caring about her skin, not that it ever happened, but it was a strange rendering of her forehead. I noticed it while playing on my Series X console version of the game. Maybe the addons and outfit choices fixed that, but I don't own them. It's noticeable in the basic outfits the game provides for free. It's like Max's self-care might be improved with the costume outfits, but I do not know for sure. Sure, this game has its problems. I guess parts of it were too woke, or there were bad jokes included about pooping in audio recordings. That must gotten away from the developers, as seems the company should not have included that since it's low-quality humor. Also, that might explain why she wears that orange hat besides the cold snow. Maybe it dries out her skin more. We don't get much snow here, maybe two days or a week during this month. Otherwise, I don't see snow much, and last year we got no snow at home. The whole whale or dead animals and global warming didn't feel connected to their powers or any animals dying. I guess the new game forgot about it. Besides a twister, I felt it was lacking in the world around her. Since it was already snowing, I guess a summertime was too much to ask for. Also did they forget that Max jumped into a different world in the original game where Chloe was disabled in a wheelchair? I kind of felt like the new Max forgot all about that in this game. The game needs more work. I am not feeling like buying a $20 addon just for petting cats. I can pet real cats at home; no need for that in a video game.

I don't trust Deck nine at all. This could be another cash-grab game using the Max for hype since she's a beloved protagonist from the original by Don't Nod and because in my opinion the games have felt progressively worse after.
