Our motor home battery ran down and we eventually realised we’d been leaving the water heater in the waste tank on by accident and it ran the batteries down. We had to buy new batteries. Not sure you should have anything attached to the main van battery but might be worth checking.

I am shocked that the manufacturer of your new camper van and the dealership you bought it from have treated you so poorly, they are idiots! To have the Radford family purchase one of their products and travel around using it is free advertising. Gee, they would have to pay a fortune to an advertising agency to make an ad like that, some heads need to roll for this mistake! However, it was lovely to see you Sue get everything organized and your three little helpers actually helping you, they are growing fast!

Our brand new camper had the battery replaced at about 8 weeks. It was because before it was bought by us it sat for many months and batteries like to be used we were told.

@@helenes52 unlikely - it’s a new van & having seen them navigate that van they’re ultra careful in turning everything off etc. Most of us are when everything is new. For a battery to not even be jumped is horrific.

RAC are pants - move to Green Flag lol. RAC were happy for my dad to wait 6 hours on Ovangle Rd. He's 70 and not in the best of health. If I'd have known, I'd have bloody driven to Morecambe and picked him up. Shouldn't need to though, I live near Leeds! Our car broke down on our driveway as we were on our way to Disneyland Paris. Green Flag were at our house within 30 minutes and we were given some good advice on getting it fixed in a hurry. Needless to say, my dad is also with Green Flag now. RAC also left me on the side of the road for 5 hours on my own, after my car was totalled. Never again!

PS … by law, if you return it to the garage you bought it from they get one chance to fix it and if they don’t, you’re within your rights to get a full refund. Dealers have a legal obligation to you xxx

Dealers know that your over a barrel as the waiting lists for new vans in as long as you arm and more now also second had vans are like gold dust unless you want a 15 year old van for silly money.

I live in an RV and travel the U.S. I have a piece of advice from all my friends. Never buy brand new!!! There are too many trips back to the shop getting things fixed. I buy RV’s that are just a little gently used. 🥰

That's such a shame you didn't get to go away in the van. When jump starting from another battery you need the donor car to be running as it requires over 12v to charge the battery in the van. It might be worth checking if there is anything at all left on in the van that could be draining it. If you still struggle give me a shout.

Hey Sue…the company you bought it from have liability if there’s faults. I would document everything and email them giving them a set amount of time to make the repairs otherwise you’ll take them to the small claims court. It might make them do something. If it doesn’t it’s not too difficult to put in a claim with the county court xxx

I love it a Vampire House! My grandson loves for me to play Grammy Vampire and he is Batman.Totally his idea. One day we were playing over FT and he asked me to be a vampire. We just use lingere bags instead of packing cubes, they're see through so you can see what you've got in each bag and they come in different sizes so you can use bigger ones for clothes and smaller ones for undies and togs etc

When you get ready to go in your camper have a list that will stay the same for each trip. Later you can add other items you will need for the destination. It is good, if you can, to have two sets of sheets and towels. Home from a trip take off dirty sheets put on clean and wash dirty. Same for towels. Grocery list could do the trick also. Many staples can be left in the camper.

If you leave the leisure battery bit turned on it will drain the van battery and it sounds like the battery was flat as that’s the sound ours used to make when flat

Oh Sue I’m only a few mins in to this video but can you please ask someone to help you move the princess house over a bit? Away from that concrete capping & wall? I felt really anxious seeing Bonnie hanging out of the window like that - I was worried she was going to tip it over & whack her head. We have had a new Bailey and now a Hymer, it is generally accepted that these vans will have teething problems which I feel is wrong as these vans aren’t cheep and the quality checks aren’t carried out to an acceptable leave either at the factory end or the dealers. It’s not good that the dealers aren’t giving you a good leave of after sales service 😡. Both our dealers were keen to sort out the problem quickly but the first dealer would have the van in for a list of snagging jobs but rarely managed to fix the problem first, second or even third time but you get there in the end and then you can relax and enjoy a snag free van. AWWWWWW so sorry that you peeps didn't get away. Thats so disappointing. If it's any consolation i went off filming earlier this week with my friend. We are slap bang in the middle of monsoon so we were out in the storms. Then the taxi drivers mad driving made us both vomit and then we had major payment issues on arrival at the filming spot. But despite the issues we had a brill day in the end. Here's hoping the RAC turned up and u peeps went away the following day and made it to your timing place. We had the same problem with our touring caravan ,bought "New"only to find out that it was a year older than the Caravan dealer said it was. We found paperwork that had a previous owners name on them and there were numerous problems with the caravan .When we went back to the dealers the owner came over and said it was sold as seen. Didn't want to know and there was no warranty on it either. My Husband was furious ,we had traded in our old caravan which was only 4 years old and paid £30.700 for a what turned out to be a 2nd hand caravan. We were robbed .🥴 Lorna.

We had a VW which was amazing but met quite a few other motorhome owners who found that something that was left switched on was draining the battery but your salespeople should have explained that. Also, if you’re trying to jump start it, the other vehicle’s engine should be running.

Fiat Professional are really good at sorting out things with new vans. we had a problem on the way home after picking up our new van and the management light came on so we had to pull over at the next services and phone for help. I phoned our dealer who did all the could they even phoned Fiat for us and as it was after hours by this time the Salesman even spoke to me from his house to try and sort things out as we were like you so angry at a new van breaking down so soon however I hope Fiat Professional gets you sorted out and you can enjoy your weekends away
