Bro just throw em together in a pump sprayer and add some distilled water. Check out JamieTheCleaners clean buster recipe. He's always tweaking it to be better but I'm pretty sure it's break buster and iron buster or at least some version along the way was. Also would recommend checking out his clean maker recipe which is 10-1 bead maker and dream maker I believe. Anyway it's pretty great. Honestly gives 98% of what bead maker does but with even a little more gloss (to my eyes) and has the antistatic goodness from the dream maker.

Some points that were left out was the pricing and dilution ratio. That something that sticks out to me from the beginning. BB has been my go to for a long one. MWC reminds me of Meguires acid wheel cleaner but Meguires is was much cheaper and you can buy it locally.

I use both products regularly. Brake Buster works great at 10:1 in an Ik Foam Pro and is perfect for weekly or bi-weekly maintenance washes and is dirt cheap by the gallon. MWC is the best wheel cleaner I’ve ever used hands down. I use it for really dirty and neglected wheels or if I’ve gone more than 2 weeks on the daily.

Heck, for a well maintained and coated wheel...all you need is ONR. I'll break out the BB once a month or so (more to give the tires a deep clean) and then MWC once every quarter.

Try KCx Alcaline Wheel Cleaner 😉 (Prewash B). More towards the BB in pH, it's also dilutable 1:4-1:50, and gives a hell of a kick when cleaning. I absolutely love that product!

Adams tire and wheel cleaner diluted at 1:1, 1:5, or 1:10 depending on neglected wheels or maintained for the win. I've used them all, and Adams is best for all in one wheel and tire.

The daily driver went eight weeks without a bath so I busted out some ONR to break down all the winter road grime before using MWC. I typically just use BB diluted in an IK sprayer for regular washes but needed something with a little more cleaning power and that's when MWC makes the most sense for me.

Brake buster is my go to for cleaning. For neglected wheels I’ll use iron decon but I’ve found for most BB does a perfectly fine job. When bought in bulk (cheap) and used in a foam cannon it cleans the tires, wheels, and helps prevent rust buildup great. to me BB is the clear winner. Can’t beat the price point.

P&S Brake Buster or 3D Yellow Degreaser are both best degreasers for wheels. I always use these products first, then once a month I do iron decontamination, then if I subsequently use an iron decontaminant that removes embedded particles and optimizes use, because the wheel is previously cleaned with the previous products. Use from strong products such as IRONX by carpro or 3D BDX or meguiars ultimate wheel cleaner, among others. I think that the BEST way to use a ferric decontaminant is to apply it on a totally clean and well degreased wheel, otherwise it is wasted. The iron decontaminant has to chemically clean something that a common degreaser cannot do. Not to go through every wash.

This principle get lost so many times. iron decon is an expensive product, and less friendly for the environnement. Use a diluted wheel cleaner/water based degreaser for most of the cleaning. And when there's contaminant, use the decon product

I only use an iron removers once or twice a year on my wheels so if I was using these products, BB for regular cleans and MWC for the deep cleans.

The problem I see with this test is even though the test tires are right next to each other so we can easily see the comparison, the rear tire is going to get MUCH dirtier because the front tire will be slinging more road film on the rear tire, just my humble opinion

Love this video! (I use both) Did have a quick question though - I’ve seen detailers using both at the same time. They’ll spray MWC and let it dwell then foam/spray on BB on top of that then get to scrubbing. Does the difference in pH effectively neutralize the cleaning capabilities of both or is this method still viable?

In order to get maximum cleaning power from both chemicals, I wouldn't use an acid with an alkaline product. Would the process you described kill all cleaning power? No, but it does seem counter productive.

as others said, generally a bad idea to mix chemicals unless it specifically says you can on the bottle. if making chemicals were as simple as "hey! i'll mix these two chemicals together to make a super chemical!", then chemical engineers wouldn't be paid what they currently get paid

Here's what I have found. Obviously wheel cleaners are a good thing. But I haven't found any that cleans the wheel completely completely just by spraying it lol. So you have to agitate. If that's the case, iron remover type cleaners will work. I've tried three different top brands and it really wasn't a big difference because I had to scrub the wheel anyway. So I just buy the cheapest thing because I have to scrub the wheel to get everything off of it. So it really doesn't make a huge difference.

High School physics tells me you can't mix acid with base otherwise they cancel and neutralize each other. If you use the same brush to do both rims I would imagine the second wheel to get scrubbed probably got its wheel cleaner slightly neutralized. I understand you probably dunked the brush in a bucket of water but still might not be enough... so much easier to have just two separate brushes...

The real cleaning power should be done touchless, with a brush you just need a good lubricated shampoo. Also a iron remover used for weekly wheels cleaning will cost you big money

brake buster didn't work VERY well on my cars in Colorado. wanted it to work. just didn't perform. 4:1 didn't do more than any cheap APC like super clean .

you were doing something wrong. Brake buster should be sprayed on DRY wheels, this way it doesnt run off quickly of the wheels and has better "grip" to dirt and time to work. It is by far the best wheel cleaner I tried, it doesnt burn my lungs, and cleans as well as any other acid based cleaner.
