Since you brought up Jeremiah Wright, I thought i'd leave an anecdote here. He was speaking at my seminary, and someone asked him a question about his contact with Obama. Obama apparently hasn't even spoken to him since the presidential campaign, which Wright dismisses as Obama getting cozier to the forces of power. Take that as you will, but I suspect(and judging from the tone of Wright he does as well) that Wright was abandoned as soon as it became inconvenient to be associated with. The undertone of this was that this had also been a change from when he was still Senator Obama, where the implication was that he was still talking to Wright. Wright is retired now, but still occasionally speaking at places, so Obama probably will have nothing to do with him, though Wright wondered if Obama would reach out after his term ended.

4:13 that's kind of interesting the "obama could never be contacted" angle was also featured... by FRONTLINE... about Afghanistan. They said that when Afghanistan had its first President, he had a line directly to Bush Jr and would ask him how to deal with and handle politics in his country--being a brave new world for the country. Meanwhile, they said, when Obama became the new President they simply... stopped returning Afghanistan parliament's phone calls... and they were confused, worried, and frustrated... that the USA would help them build a government and then... an election happens and simply ignore them like they didn't exist. Frontline stated that "the Obama Administration wanted to distance itself as far as possible from the Afghanistan war".
