Rome didn't salt Carthage. They needed the fertile land for food. They did however burn the city down to destroy all Carthaginian culture and history and rebuilt a Roman city ontop the ruins

Guys, i've never played any Paradox game before, but this one seems really appealing to me, may be because growing up i played Rome Total War quite a lot. I've seen a bunch of streams of Imperator now and it seems that everyone pretty much preoccupied with war all the time. So i want to ask is it possible to expand in this game using, for example, cultural and wealth dominance , without actively engaging in battles all the time? Or it wouldn't be so efffective and/or interesting?

@@perpetualsystems Exactly, so there is going to be no challenge and will become repetitive real quick. It's not like EU4 or Ck2 where you have a lot of great powers that keep each other in check with coalitions etc.. to make the gameplay a little bit more fun
