@@kimjongun1348 as soon as the Allies broke through the Gustav Line the German forces withdrew to the Gothic Line. OTL Italian Social Republic (not legitimate Italian government, that was the Kingdom in the South) didn't even have any proper divisions until April 1944 and only had about two in June

Just like Millenium Dawn, it is a good thing Paradox just focus on 2 dates, not 1944 too. If not, they will have to balance the game for MP first (like they do) and then again to make sure all 3 dates are playable and that no matter the country, you "might be able to win" if you are good enough. (or the AI bad enough)

Go play the rise of nations mod, it has so many starting dates as from 1910, 1914, 1918, 1934, 1936 etc to 2020 and they filled a lot of those times in with starting dates

I;ve been playing italy on 1944 and my honest opinion is you can't win with starting with eight divisions best thing i got was the americans to sicily but event then they came with 50 divisions and i couldn't protect against naval invasions

Well this is how it was IRL. USSR,USA, and everyone else came to Europe very motivated and with a lot of equipment. Meanwhile the Germans and the Italians came back from Russia and Africa beaten up. Not to mention the countries like Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria who wanted to turn sides ASAP so they could get into a better position during negotiations.

I dont know if Social Republic of Italy had any hope anymore in 1944 but if this game is realistic, then as Germany, you might have yet some hope if you bum rushed ASAP all production lines to churn out Me-262 and heavy tanks instead of wasting further resources for PZIV and weaker tank models and avoided producing more Me-110, bombers, Me-109 earlier than G.

@@kirby1225 You could be wrong in a sense that if Germany got especially Me-262s just one year earlier, it could have been early enough to save Germany. But if they got Me-262, XXI etc etc etc in 1944, it was perhaps too late (actually, that is somewhat likely it would have been too late). However, if that is the case in this mod, and that Axis have no hope of winning no matter how skilled strategist is playing as Germany or as Japan and/or how incompetent noob is playing as Allies, then I wonder what is the point of this mod.

@@kirby1225 In any case, Hitler was an absolute moron to delay development of Me-262 because he wanted Sturmvögel. He had no use for bombers after 1942 but meanwhile, a Schwarm of four Me-262 could have shot down no less than one hundred four engine American bombers per one sortie even in spite of any escorts. For reference: Schweinfurt mission and Operation Tidal Wave were considered catastrophes even if Allied bomber losses were only about fifty in each mission and it was thought one or few more disasters like them and bombing raids against Germany would have to be stopped. But lets be happy Hitler was so imprudent and unwise. That was for the benefit of all the world.
