I own a small heating and air company and had other bussiness owners tell me I was crazy for not taking the loan. Family members told me I was foolish for struggling when the Government was giving away " Free Money ". Pretty sure they don't understand where the government gets it's money from. Meaning Taxes on the people and or printing more out of thin air which devalues the money we have. Now those same bussiness owners are scrambling to try and get the loans forgiven and or are scared of what they are going to have to do to pay them back Unfortunately some of them are still in denial, and my family who thought I was foolish are still cluless that this is a problem many businesses will face. Thanks Dave for staying true to your principles, and for stating the truth.

I have been attacked on social media for saying the businesses should have been debt-free and have an emergency fund. They say "NO ONE COULD HAVE PLANNED FOR A PANDEMIC!!!" Uh, well no one plans to be in a car accident either. Dave Ramsey started his business in his living room on a card table and now is a huge business that was not begging for a PPP loan. I think Dave knows a thing or two about Business Finance.

I agree with you. If they were not prepared then they should close. They reaped the benefits of a hot economy and max profits for quite sometime and never prepared for a rainy day. And when it comes to big businesses, too big to fail, should also mean too big to succeed. I am not for socialism but amazing to see how many "don't tread on me" people and businesses are begging for government assistance. All they are doing is proving to the government how mush people actually do need them. Don't keep feeding them that benefit.
@whatevergoesforme51294 жыл бұрын
@@Chris-dr4bl Well, to be fair to some businesses, profits are too small to be able to save for an emergency fund. And it is not the pandemic that shut down businesses. It is the government. For me, I would just declare bankruptcy and call it a day and work somewhere else before taking that loan.

As usual, Dave Ramsey is the voice of reason, in a world spinning out of control.

I felt yucky about taking the stimulus money that WASN'T a loan, but we did need it and didn't know how to reject it. The government is so slimy.

There is a certain group of people in this country that are simply hateful and intolerant to any ideas or thoughts that aren't their own.

100 % of Mine was completely forgiven through my bank. Now whether the bank has received the money is another thing.

The answers are the same because they aren’t situational. You can find the answer to all your questions by following the principles.

I have a business and could have taken out one of these PPP loans, but decided against it. Call it a gut instinct. I'm glad I listened to that instinct.
@B.H.44443 жыл бұрын
Thank you Dave. I’ve been getting so much grief about not taking the loans. I knew instinctually it wasn’t the right path even though it has been a grueling year to try and keep my business open. It is a comfort to know you advise against it.

I am with you Dave , I knew they won’t forgive those loans$$$ , my friends applied for those loans and got a lot of money 💰 💰💰because they thought it would be FORGIVEN. WHAT A TRAP!

The repetition of The Dave Ramsey show helps to instill the financial values many people should have. Thats why I keep coming back.

I enjoyed this rant lol. Sometimes the other personalities dull these rants down. Good old fashioned Dave rant!!

I love how blunt and honest he is. If we would just follow the principles from the Bible we would be rich in all areas of our lives. Of course I’m not naïve and I know life happens. But God can gives us peace through every storm if we trust him. God bless America. God bless the world.

The more people scream for government help, the more powerful the government will see itself and become. I do not think we want to give them that satisfaction.

Often, when I suggest to a friend or family member that they listen to Dave Ramsey, the answer is the same. I heard of him from my (teacher, sister, boss, church, parents, brother, cousin, ...). How many people does it take for you to give him a listen?

This is one of my favorite Dave Ramsey rants. I loved it so much I played it a second time for my boyfriend. I feel bad for everyone that fell for the PPP Loans but cmon it was obvious that it was not gonna be good.

It's sad that we just naturally expect our government to be incompetent and incapable of doing anything constructive. We really should hold our leaders to higher standard, and do a better job of voting them out when they're not performing.

@Mack.of.all.trades4 жыл бұрын
That 1 million proven to be curved. But even so, at the worst case at 1 million. 1 million out of 8 Billion is peanuts That’s not even 1/64th of a percentage

He is smart about money, but not about the pandemic. Many people who survive are likely to suffer permanent effects, like a damaged heart or lungs. My niece had it in both of her lungs, and although she is expected to fully recover, it could take 6 months before that happens, and she can't work until she is fully recovered. Do you want the hospitals to be so full that they can't help you when you need it? It has happened. People with heart attack symptoms were turned away. That is one important reason to minimize the number of people who catch it. If the virus had been addressed immediately, it would never have gotten out of hand. Look at Germany. Look at New Zealand.
