Successful investing is hard work because it means disciplining your mind to do the opposite of human nature. Buying during a panic, selling during euphoria, and holding on when you are bored and just craving a little action. Investing is 5% intellect and 95% temperament

You're 27 years old. It is alright. The compound interest period has begun. To build a strong foundation and reduce risk while maximizing gain, I think all investors should begin with ETFs. I like investing in close-end funds that pay monthly dividends. The trick is to hold long term and reinvest the monthly dividends plus buy more shares on a monthly basis or whenever you can afford to. This can be easily done because close-end funds are bought and sold on the stock market just like regular stock. That’d be enough to create a portfolio that would pay you between $50k to $70k in dividend income

Nice video as always, a great analysis. Newcomers often wonder if it's too late to navigate the financial market, but the market is always unpredictable. Trading has more advantages than simply holding, so it's important to learn before diving in. Active trades are necessary to ride the market's waves. Thanks to Shea Ardolf’s insights, daily trade signals, and my dedication to learning, I've been increasing my daily earnings, managed to grow a nest egg of around 127k to a decent 532k. Kudos to the journey ahead!

@pdxmusl15102 ай бұрын
The point isn't that you actually eat only beans and rice. 😂. The point is no fancy foods. No crazy expensive foods. Keep your food budget down. Canned corn is 89 cents. Frozen corn is around $2.5. Price per serving in canned is better. Buy canned. Thats what this means. Buy with intention. Don't just go to the grocery store and buy whatever you want. Make a list. A meal planning that you never throw away food. And always ask... how can I do this less expensively? But reasonable sacrifices. Canned corn vs frozen corn is not going to compromise your health for 2 years. Its a reasonable choice.

You should not stop your 401k to pay off your debt, especially if your job offers match. Then you're losing all that basically free money that you get from them matching your contributions. It's also pre-tax. The better plan is to look at what your paycheck is after you get your check after taxes and everything, and set up an aggressive plan to pay it off and live on what's left...

Asking a person to make 7 small changes overall years is a much easier ask than giving someone a math proof with 7 required changes within days. Personally I would rather the more mathematical way. If you can get your money to double over and over, that 5th, 6th doubling is significant. The Rule of 72 says that you can divide 72 by your rate of return and that is how long it takes for your money to double. At a 5% rate of return, your money doubles every 14.4 years. At a 10% rate of return, your money doubles every 7.2 years. At a 15% rate of return, it doubles every 4.8 years.

You have to have an account with a company like Vanguard or Fidelity or ETrade. You can set up multiple accounts with each of them. Then look up the stock or fund you want, using their tools, and there will be a a "Buy" button somewhere on the screen.

Does putting money in a CD count as an emergency fund?? I'm so confused 😕
@damondiehl56378 ай бұрын
Yes. That is actually a good way to set aside money for an emergency. It's a little less liquid than a savings account, so it is not right there for you to grab when a want presents itself (as compared to a need). CDs generally have a better interest rate, as well, so you more or less keep up with inflation as the CD matures. Build a "ladder" with a number of CDs, so you can cash one each month as you need the cash. As they mature, if you don't need them, renew them. CDs often have a penalty if you cash them in before their mature date. Be aware of that. Maybe a high yield savings account is a better option. It is still money sitting in a place away from your normal savings/checking, so there is a reduced chance you will dip into it, but it is more liquid than a CD.

Combined contribution of $6,500 per year. There is no benefit when you do your taxes each year if you invest in a Roth account. But, there is a payoff in retirement as all the money in your Roth account comes out tax free. That could mean hundreds of thousands of dollars that you do not have to pay any tax on.
