Yeah, I'm not getting it. Of course, I never had a "dream" wedding plan, but I've heard there are a lot of women who start "dreaming of the day" when they are little girls. Again, I just don't get it. How about a small wedding and a reception meal with close family and friends, then saving up throughout the year and having a big one year anniversary bash? Or just push the day back a year and save like crazy for the dream wedding? Why is that a problem? They are both young so an extra year shouldn't such a big deal to get the dream wedding.

I know people who had a very expensive fancy wedding, where both of their families got into debt to pay for it. And eventually they got divorced in 3-5 years. When we were planning our wedding with my loved one, we decided not to invite ANY friends, because once we’d invite someone, others would feel bad for not getting an invitation. So, we ended up buying a suit for him, a dress for me, and invited only my parents( his were outside the country) and a good photographer. We registered our marriage and had a dinner at a good restaurant in a very small circle. And an amazing photo session. So happy for the choice we made back then, almost 6 years ago.

@nate_9092 He needs to leave if he has a conversation with her and they can't figure out a way to really hear what each other is saying and really wanting. Just like Dave said or maybe just implied, the money may not actually be the root issue for her. Throwing a whole relationship away without at least TRYING to work it out is a crying shame for both people involved. They've clearly built a foundation, and there is some level of affection there: why throw that away at the first major hurdle? What if they talk and the conversation goes really well and the relationship is not only saved, but is stronger for their efforts? And if the conversation goes poorly, well, then they need to ask themselves if it IS time to leave.
