Her case is pretty solid, though, that her location is the problem).
@janebrown35874 жыл бұрын
@@jmannii I agree she doesn't have to be homeless. It does take changing your mindset. $1500 allows you to live in southern California. It's not fancy, and it's tough as you make it, but people do it. It's a matter of choices and so many people choose not to live within their means or they think they're entitled to more than they work for. $1500 means having to rent a room or even sharing a room and budgeting properly. No extras, no frills and it can certainly be done because it's being done by people every day. It doesn't have to be forever. You know about the "four walls" so you know about Ramsey and what it entails. No eating out, find a second part-time job, avail yourself of churches, food banks and social services when eligible. Nobody NEEDS to have an apartment to themselves - we prefer it, but many people enjoy living in roommate situations their entire lives. $1500 a month living in a car leaves plenty of room to be socking away funds. People do it every day. I have been saying this for decades: we need to bring back the good old Boarding House. I always thought (still do) that they provided a really important homelife and community for the tenants/renters/members. You have someone who oversees the housekeeping and cooks meals at specified times. You can choose to be as solitary as you wish or participate in the 'family' atmosphere. It provides security and companionship. You have your own private room or share a room, but meals are as a household.

It's never good being in a situation like this, I've been there. I did it on the east coast, it used to get cold. It's a very depressing existence, the only good thing is that I was young, just 18 at the time. Anyone living this way can change, there is a way out eventually. I just worked as much as I could and was able to save $5000 to get an apartment that I shared. Even though it's been a long time and I'm now far removed from that life it's something you never forget, once I got some traction and stability I left that lifestyle in the dust because you never want to go back to that ever again, the thought of it is scary. Nowadays, things are going pretty well. These days, If I tell anyone who didn't know me back then that i used live in my car they look puzzled because it doesn't look that way today...thankfully.

@IrishFrank22 true but it’s far more common for women to be stuck in an abusive relationship due to having no money. And if all women in abusive relationships left at the same time, the number of homeless women would almost be equal to that of homeless men
@IrishFrank22 Жыл бұрын
@@nicholasselke5214 I would disagree in saying women suffer more than men in domestic violence. Most men I have seen get attacked by wives never report it because of embarrassment. Where did the old saying come from a boy must never hit a girl but yet we don't say vice versa for girls. I have three generations in my family alone of women beating husbands and children and know many other guys in that situation. I would say it's 50/50 if all domestic abuse crimes were reported. Even in schools there is a epidemic of female teachers having sex with students. Happened quiet a few times in my school but never involving a male teacher with a student. As for women having no money, women cause over 80% of divorces and usually get more than half of the husband money and the man can end up homeless even if he was a good man because the wife gets the house. We hear all the time of women shelters but none for men!

Here in Orange County rooms are 800 to 1200 and up depending on where. Recently I saw a lower price for the area only to find out it was a shared room! Some people in society are missing the main point. Everyone in society starts the conversation with what people are Entitled to and not "What and where do you want to be and How can we get their? What are you Personally Willing to Invest"? When I sat down with my financial advisor, I didn't tell him what I thought the world owed me I shared with him where I wanted to be and we set up a plan to reach my goals. Now I'm one of those rich home owners who hoards money. Yeah, Right, my house is paid for and I have an investment portfolio in mutual funds that provide jobs for millions of people. It's not the haves vs the have nots. It's the doers against the sitters. The Women in Oakland right now trying to seize a house because it's vacant and they want to claim it is a perfect example. The house was just bought by and investment company 2 or 3 days before they moved in illegally and now they won't leave. What is this world coming to. If you want something work for it.
